Interesting history behind the white toon gloves. It was made as a workaround to the early days of animation, back when it was just black ink on white cels. The white gloves made it easier for the hands to stick out from the body. Felix the cat was a notable example of what could happen if they didn't wear gloves. Post colorization of animation, it's only done out of tradition. Same thing with four finger cartoon hands.
