if you don't know what this is, you've been spared. im all for stuff not being anime pretty and being somewhat grotesque but man does it still need something appealing going on...

The Problem Solverz, and I'm sorry for anyone who is nostalgic for that show.
The style is weird shapes with flashy colors everywhere.
It was originally pitched for adults, so the style would make sense for that demographic. Sadly, it was rejected by Adult Swim, even though it fits their brand.
How CN didn't reject the show on the art style alone is beyond my understanding
Some visually competent shows become much worse if you start to compare the final product to the pitched concept art.

Maybe a bit of a controversial opinion, I don't know, but I hate the artstyle of Total Drama. Never seen the show in full, but from what I have seen it looks very ugly.

There was this animated series I caught on Adult Swim one school night that had a style so unappealing that I couldn't even pay attention to the content of the show. I don't remember the actual content of it being any better--I remember the premise feeling just as lame and unimaginative. I was also a little kid at the time, so it's possible clever writing went over my head, but it seems unlikely based on what I've read up on it just now.
Edit: I forgot to say, the show is Lucy, Daughter of the Devil.

Craig of the Creek, I hate the character designs because of that annoying calarts style, only this time it's even worse. Like what the hell is up with the tallish guy's ear? Or how the girl next to the tallish guy looks less like a normal young girl and more like a hairy gnome. Craig himself is the only character that looks okay but I'm bothered by his weird gamer dent. And don't get me started on that mutated parrot.
I haven't seen the complete show, only clips of it and it just seems generic and catters to the nerdy weird outcast kids(I was one though), but I hope it's good and the clips I watched were out of context. It's just these character design suck more than the show's lame ass food and recipes.

Sure, but there still needs to be something appealing to it. Take Ren and Stimpy for instance, that show had plenty of incredibly high detailed shots and characters intended for gross out humor. But there was an appeal to it. The overall look and theme of the show was still enjoyable.
