I'm gonna be completely honest, I'm not the most experienced with gothic movies- I barely even watch movies but the ones that are my fave are Elvira Mistress Of The Dark and I JUST finished Dracula (1931) the movies on my list currently are Nosferatu (1922) rosemary's baby (1968) and The Pit and the Pendulum (1961)
sorry if that doesn't help-

hello there, new around here, but what a lovely opportunity to ask what new and old music you'd suggest to be discovered that go under 'goth' label. Always curious to discover new (and old) artists for my playlists.

The Crow
The Hunger ( David Bowie )
Most Horror Movies
Tim Burton
Addams Family and Addams Family Values
What we should be talking about is the music though because outside of Bauhaus and the grandfather of all goth music being Screamin Jay Hawkins theres plenty of good bands out there like Alien Sex Fiend, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Danse Society, etc.
Kill for the sake of killing, Let there be blood! LET THERE BE GENOCIDE! (Hi Btw Did you know that I am a old NG user from 2013? Its true! Click on this link, For this is a new account of mine!)

Former fan of the general forums. Artist, Twitter hater, loser, bad poet.
Just popping in to plug an artist with some really cool vibes. I really don’t know what I’m talking about in terms of goth and adjacent aesthetics, but they seem to be on the formal dress/high fashion end of goth, emo, scene, and visual kei. They need more followers, dammit!
Someone please help me revive my clubs
I wouldn’t really define myself as goth or emo, but I’ve always been a fan of the music and aesthetics associated with each. I’m curious how y’all feel about the younger generations adopting the subculture. Seems like emo/goth/scene is definitely having a moment in the limelight rn

My personal favorite movies that i would consider important to and/or beloved amongst the goth subculture would be, Interview with the Vampire, Rocky Horror, The Hunger, The Phantom of the Opera, Crimson Peak, Hausu (House), The Crow, and notable mention Queen of the Damned (even though i dislike it because i prefer the book lol)

amazing question! what makes someone a goth is listening to the music! goth is all about the music, what differentiates it from other subcultures like, for example emo, isnt based off music

I see. so being goth is similar to being a metalhead

Yay the club for me! Anyway, this gothic rock band has been on my radar for a year or so now. They go by Inkkubus Sukkubus, and they're a British gothic rock and pagan rock band. I do recommend them a lot if anyone on this thread has not heard of them before. I'm currently trying to look for similar music and or similar vibes from other bands to add to my playlists. if anyone has any recommendations, any replies are very much appreciated!
