Fun!

There’s a good video I’ve watched that tier-lists the Luigi’s Mansion bosses (from all games) based on how scary they are. I think it’s worth a look.

Today I’m gonna go see the Beetlejuice sequel. While I waited to get hyped about it initially because I was afraid it would flop, I’m quite relieved to see the ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. When I get back I’m gonna tell you my thoughts. >:)

Y'know maybe Terrifier 3 was on to something by being themed around Christmas

Maybe instead of fighting back against Christmas we should pervert their tradition with our spooky antics and force big Christmas companies to wait until November to blast the shelves with their Mariah Carey slop and their bright reds and greens and shiny ornaments and 🤢

Genuinely bullshit. When I become president of the United States of merica I will ban anything Christmas-related from being sold before 15th November. This will be enforced by firing squad

It would be pretty funny if as a form of protest, everyone starts making spooky-related content again during Christmas. make Christmas-themed horror films/games. Make spooky art and music etc. See how they like it lmao.

I do actually like Christmas a lot, but it's just not the season yet. Halloween will always trump, so keep ya damn jolliness out of our season. I'm so close to kicking corps straight in their jingle bells xd

alright i spent way too much time thinking about the idea

something like "The Bleak Midwinter" collab(or just halloween in december, only got a tentative name rn could use help)

it would need a little bit of setup over the next couple months but i believe the end result would be cool

so during this next month we as the halloween club design a christmas calendar to use as the basis for the entire collab

smth like this

iu_1281351_12349704.webp

i can set up some kind of aggie or whatever and we can work together there

starting november 1st, we put out applications, 23 at most. we ask people to pitch us their monster ideas, the only guideline being to keep it with the "creepy christmas"(creepmas?) vibe. the ones we like best get on for the calendar, and their designers get to work.

december 1st is when the collab kicks off officially with the calendar being viewable in the art portal(maybe games if we somehow find someone down to make an interactive one?) in any case, itll be updated daily, each day revealing a different spookster behind one of the doors on the calendar, each from a hopefully different artist. days leading up to and on christmas eve are reserved for our monsters, barring that we want to make any for the collab.

come christmas day, and the calendar is completed, 24 different holly haints from 24 different folks.

Anyone got some good October media they'd like to recommend?

Got a few things I've enjoyed in the past and a couple new series for me.

Over the Garden Wall: Probably most of you have heard of it, if not short kids TV series of two brothers in a strange land, it's less horror and more kid friendly spooky most of the time, like Gravity Falls, I think it's quite charming.

The Kirlian Frequency: Argentine animated series, nice anthology based show that's set in a town with witches, werewolves and other monsters, stories told though a radio host who's every bit as creepy as the other residents of the town.

Side note I've only ever watched session 1 of this show, I think there is 2 but have never found anywhere to actually watch the 2nd, I think it's only in Spanish while session 1 has been dubbed into English. So if you happen to know where to find session 2 let me know.

Amnisa Bunker: Played it last year, very good horror game, might give it a 2nd go this year on a new mode, genuinely I was quite scared playing it, admittedly not so much for the last 2 hours or so once I was more familiar with the monster and how it behaved. But a harder setting might help make it more scary again.

New material for me.

The White Vault: a horror podcast, where a team in a Arctic research station discover a lost village under the ice and find more disturbing implications while trapped in the middle of no where in a storm. (I think that's only the first 2 sessions, just finished first session and the other sessions might be other stories.) Never been much into radio shows or fictional podcasts like this but I've enjoyed this one and I think it's quite well performed so likely will listen to the rest of it.

Trese: Follows a detective on supernatural cases, the world sort of openly has a spiritual, magic world existing alongside it and she gets called in for such cases. Based on a graphic novel, features Philippine urban legends, very gothic style.

i can set up some kind of aggie or whatever and we can work together there

starting november 1st, we put out applications, 23 at most. we ask people to pitch us their monster ideas, the only guideline being to keep it with the "creepy christmas"(creepmas?) vibe. the ones we like best get on for the calendar, and their designers get to work.

december 1st is when the collab kicks off officially with the calendar being viewable in the art portal(maybe games if we somehow find someone down to make an interactive one?) in any case, itll be updated daily, each day revealing a different spookster behind one of the doors on the calendar, each from a hopefully different artist. days leading up to and on christmas eve are reserved for our monsters, barring that we want to make any for the collab.
come christmas day, and the calendar is completed, 24 different holly haints from 24 different folks.

thoughts?

God, I love this so much. I’d be so happy to help you handle logistics or otherwise co-host.

Awh yeah, could definitely use a hand with the actual execution phase, I'm good with designing project plans and the rest but actually pulling it off is beyond me.

We finna make one awesome collab

I have recently made a short story that's basically inspired by the Treehouse of Horror segment Time and Punishment, one of my favorites. It's a comedy horror titled "Broken Game Console". If anyone is interested, then it's in my profile.

Trese: Follows a detective on supernatural cases, the world sort of openly has a spiritual, magic world existing alongside it and she gets called in for such cases. Based on a graphic novel, features Philippine urban legends, very gothic style.
If you're into TF2, then I'd say you should go for the horror fan film, Emesis Blue.

I am into TF2 and I've heard about that before but not yet seen it, will check it out thank you.
