4 months from Halloween season. Any plans?

I love it, it's the only holiday I go all out for./ do anything for. I especially love getting crafty and making costumes and decorations.

Something cool I found out a few years ago:

Cheap creepy decor- fill a disposable food safety glove with water. Freeze, then add to your punch bowl. **after removing cube from glove**Hand shaped cubes :) you can semi pose the glove too, prior to freezing.

Similarly themed:

Project 2)

Put on a plastic glove, tape all around it thoroughly. Carefully cut yourself free. Tape over the cut you made. Stuff, seal, paint if you want. If you leave a cabob stick coming from what was the wrist hole, you then have a "zombie hand" to be coming out of the ground .

project 3)

Basically repeat the same steps but with a shirt you don't care about. Then you have the base for a torso. For a scarecrow, creepy figure, or just gore. (If you make costumes, this can also be used to approximate your size. Add a hanger to the neck hole and it's a costume holder)

Oh hell yeah, I didn't realize it was so close. I've been thinking of making another creepy circus track but this time using 8D panning to make the instruments spin around your head during the climax of the song.

Where dose the time go?!

Well I'd like to do some Halloween art / writing, I've already got some ideas for short story's, feel I should start sooner rather than later or else I'm going to procrastinate and it's never going to get done.

I also like to run Halloween themed games for my RPG server, watch scary movies and play scary games, plus decorate the house for trick or treaters, I've actually got a bit of a reputation on our road for being the most decorated house XD

That's awesome! Cool that you've built a Halloween reputation on the block.

I've prepped for trick or treaters each year, but because I live in an apartment in a shady neighborhood, I have yet to get any.

I do love candy though. So not much of a loss I suppose.

Moving soon, maybe this year is the one!

@tangerine

That sounds amazing. I'll have to keep an eye out for it

Well I am in the UK and Halloween is not quite as a big of a holiday here as it is in the US but I love it so I've built up a collection of decorations over the years and start hanging them out about 2 weeks prior.

Hope you get some! Though if not you could do "reverse" Trick or treating, show up to people's houses, say nothing and just offer them sweets.

Grab a few friends, and dress up as old ladies. Grab a door and go to each house, knock then wait for them to open. Then they knock on your door revealing you and your friends all dressed up. Then you compliment their costumes and give them candy xD

That would be a lot of fun. A part of the reason why I like Newgrounds so much is because the entire site lights up around the spooky season xd

These ideas just might work haha worst case, I think it can be explained away in the trick and treat category

Funny either way.

The horror movie idea sounds fun. I try to fill each October night with one if I can. So all recommendations welcomed

It's my favourite part of the year :)

I genuinely have so many things that I want to do, but I have to wait for the spooky season

Sadly I'm southern hemisphere so I don't get such luxuries. Spooky season is spring for me, which honestly isn't the worst, you get used to it. Christmas makes up for it though, with all the trees turning red and green for the season :)

Honestly, I find that fall and spring weather aren't too different from each other, the biggest difference being one isn't as dry as the other. But other than that they're super similar (which partially contributes to my annual Q1 Halloween craving)

Also that tree is beautiful wth

One season is a whole lot more orange than the other xd. But yeah they are definitely pretty similar.

Forgot to yammer about it here, but I got the cravings and went to a haunted house last week!

iu_1251614_12349704.webp

It's called Mortem Manor, and can be found in the Orlando area of Florida

Now this place is just smthn else

The walkthrough time is only about 6-8 minutes, which is short for $20 price tag imo, but it's innards are horrifying

The attraction is very claustrophobic, to be honest. They had a bunch of props and animatronics stacked around, which made confrontations VERY close and personal. Honestly, because of this, the house had an extended effect of those stereotypical rooms where there's a bunch of statues on the sides of the walkway, with one of them being a person. There was at least a couple rooms that had me scared to progress cus I couldn't tell if the prop was human or not. Scares were beautiful, at least from the actors. They tended to come from behind you, which at one point had me quite literally run into the wall like a chicken. Animatronics were iffy, though, because a lot of them were "loud=scary"

However, the overall atmosphere is awesome. (It also has a massive Cthulhu statue at the end so like peak)

Would recommend if y'all ever end up in that area

Just wanted to say that I keep wanting to respond to this, but don’t know what question or comment to make.

I feel like the animatronics being loud is probably par for the course. Most of the ones you can buy if you’re not Universal Studios have very limited motion, so the best they can do to scare is move their face and upper body while playing a loud noise.

Always really cool to figure out how those things are engineered, though, did you see any interesting ones?

I'm gonna be completely honest here I didn't see many of them because I was too busy running around screaming like an idiot xD.

There was one, though, that was on the other side of a two-way mirror that you legitimately couldn't see until it lit up and started yelling.

Wasn't necessarily the most advanced because it was just banging on the mirror, but it was still a neat scare.

Just completed Luigi's Mansion for the 3DS, and it was my second time playing it, first on the original Gamecube. Got a B ranking house this time around. I just thought this would be appropriate since it is a Halloween themed game after all.
