No. That is fearmongering to the extreme.
Regardless, this is still incredibly bad. I don't look forward to how this will play out.

I really got no words right now.
I hope Ukraine can weather this storm safely.
From The Guardian:
I've heard other sources say that hundreds of Ukrainians have already been killed but I couldn't find a general estimate.
From CNN:
From CBC:
Explosions heard across Ukraine as Russia launches military attack
How the invasion is going so far, according to the BBC:
This invasion is clearly not just coming from Donbas, but from all areas Russia borders with Ukraine, including the territory they "claim" to be theirs, Crimea. This is not just a special operation, this is a full-scale invasion.

Kiev is the Russian spelling, Kyiv is the Ukrainian spelling
Considering the current circumstances, it'd be quite disrespectful to call it 'Kiev' right now

I only hope that Western Europe learned its lesson from the beginning of WWII when UK and France bombed Nazi Germany with... leaflets. Once again the appeasement policy has failed.
From latest news: Russian forces that entered Ukraine from Crimea destroyed Ukrainian defenses near Kherson and are continuing their invasion inside the country not meeting any significant resistance.

Appeasement will fail (Putin called the US an "empire of lies" and he's not wrong), sanctions will fail. The only option is the military, but nobody here desires war after experiencing one disaster after another, on top of having little personal stake in the conflict.
We should face it, we don't live in a unipolar world anymore. The speed of the Russian operations here has been pretty astonishing, and it is doubtful a US military operation would actually succeed, assuming we had the will to pursue that, and we don't. We should be asking what sunk us into the ground so hard and fast that the country we recently were inviting to join NATO is getting taken over by the biggest threat to itself and NATO is nowhere to be found. We are so ignorant and prideful we don't even listen to the legitimate security concerns Russia had that led to this. And when is the last time one of our US trained/funded armies was any...good?
Biden, to his credit, was pretty clear that this was coming and what the US response would be and I appreciate the honesty.
Antonov International Airport area in Hostomel near Kyiv is under heavy attack from Russian Mi-8 helicopters.
There are also reports that Ukrainian Army shot down several of them.

The velvet hand in an iron glove.
Just wanted to add fuck Belarus. It is being reported that they lent their forces to Russians for this invasion and I hope they also feel the weight of sanctions for their actions against the people of Ukraine.
As a side note, it will be interesting to see how much of what is being reported is wrong with how quick the situation is evolving.

Well the parallels can be made he is using the excuse of ethnic nationality (insert here) is disenfranchised from their homeland, the only difference is in this instance instead of a false flag like Hitler did with Poland to justify it Russia is using "indepeendce movements".
What the fuck is Biden waiting for economic sanctions aren't going to do shit fast enough unless it's backed up by military action DECLARE ARTICLE 5 OF THE NATO CHARTER YOU OLD WORTHLESS FUCK.
It didn't work with Obama with Crimea its not gonna work now, it's time for international intervention.

Ukraine isn't part of NATO... they can't invoke article 5. If anyone intervenes, then Russia is going to lose it even more and possibly use nuclear means or very strong cyber attacks like possibly taking out power stations.
We also are not putting boots on the ground for Ukraine. That would be insane.
damn, shit got real pretty fast huh.
at first they said they would only invade a tiny bit, but nope. we have a full scale invasion in europe lads.
NATO better get its shit ready.
also, wtf has Fox News been smoking?

There were even reports that some missiles have been fired from Belarus towards Ukraine.
But we should have seen that coming. What is extremely bad for the whole West of the fact that China is taking Putin's side. And if the Western world won't stop Russia they can even use this case to invade Taiwan for example.
By the way, did anyone hear any statements from countries like India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Brazil?

Yeah, Ukraine really tried hard to join NATO in order to make it so that they are protected under Article 5 but it's too late. Also, i think Joe Biden has said that any american in Ukraine has to evacuate immediately before they're caught in the crossfire.
AH SHIT HERE WE GO!!
edit: i am retart, but the sentiment is the same.

When will people learn that you have to draw a line in the sand. Peace can only be assured when it is too costly to solve disagreements through war. The US never should have withdrawn from Ukraine.

no, this will not lead to ww3
Only if someone like China gets the idea that they can pull a stunt of their own, but in a more important region.

We are part of this block called BRICS, but I believe it is more economic than anything else. Local news are reporting the tragedy, and reports that about 7000 brazilians are stuck at Ukraine, and out government has condemned the attack, but also said that there's nothing to be done for now.

I hope no one does anything that might make the Russian people side with Putin.
Also allegedly, an entire Russian platoon has surrendered.
