I drew a tuxedo cat, but in an odd color. Kind of a personal challenge, mostly. Made a preset sheet and rolled some dice and I draw what the dice landed on. Turned out pretty good by my standards.

A few things you should know, in no particular order:
- Blending stumps are fine for blending graphite & charcoal but they aren't magical. They're not the only option, either. Experiment with things: binder paper, bar napkins, a clean bandana, a makeup brush, etc.
- The key to good shading is to know what the light is doing: where it is coming from & how it describes the form. Once you understand that, the rest ain't that hard.
- For beginners, the best way to start is with basic shapes (soup or soda can, a smooth ball, a box) with one source of light hitting it/them from one side. You want one side lit & the other side in shadow.

Depending on Ctrl-Z or clicking "Undo ____" can all too easily become a crutch. Gain basic skill in traditional media & once you go digital, you'll be ahead of more than half the artists on Fiverr & similar platforms.
- Most of all: if you want to get good at realism, you must learn how to see what you're drawing. It is a level of focused vision that most non-artists never achieve, with few exceptions. Drawing is as much about seeing as it is about putting marks on paper.

I'm starting to get how to properly scale a drawing any size I desire. Just have to ensure the length and width ratio is the same no matter how much I scale it. This ensures it remains in proportion no matter how big or how small I make it. I found this stock image on shutterstock for a still life subject.
And could make it larger or smaller as I desired to. And again, as long as the ratio of the length and width remains consistent, it's always in proportion. Still have to work on a number of things, but so far so good.

Cool. This reminds me of games like Donkey Kong from back in the day, when having an Atari system meant you were luxe... (you had to hook video game systems up to your TV--which had a picture tube!)
