Bad idea, people would overuse the crap out of his songs. Plus, he would just override the feature section. We need more small time artists up there, not people who already have 100's of thousands of followers.

Also, these two are legit:

How many times have remixes of this shit been removed, now? @BlueAlpha14 am I wrong?

No, because most of these "remixes" aren't remixes. I don't think MDK is owned by anything, but if the remix doesn't have effort it needs to be out of here.

Edit: Yo, where the mods at anyways? None of the stuff I've reported is being removed. Even flagging them should've alerted them.

I'm here. I had to take a break from removing stuff last night due to a serious migraine that pretty much had me down for the count. Then I overslept. I'm checking the thread and flags now.

Alrighty, just waking up. Back on semi-normal sleep schedule thanks to having to hit the bed early last night (fiancee was over and had school). Once I've had my coffee I'll dig into the flags. I just rounded off @MonsterboyGD's last post and removed those, in addition to the rest of the stolen content on the accounts. That took me a bit. Somewhere in here I'll round off my diary for the day.

@Cank, if you're really hurting for whistle points, going through and flagging what you know to be stolen wouldn't hurt. 90-99% of the stuff reported here is stolen, and more people flagging it helps it get dealt with faster. That said, no one should flag anything if they aren't sure.

@BlueAlpha14, what was that legit submission on page 96?

@Jackho, good to see you! :)

The way the song was posted leads me to believe this is an impersonator account. A-Hisa is commonly stolen from by GD thieves, and there is absolutely no information on the NG account except ASL. The audio sounds like a YT rip. It will be telling if the user disputes the ban and if so, how. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt.

"Blue" is without a doubt stolen. "I'm blue, if I was green I would die". I'm surprised if you have never heard it. It was HUGE in the 2000's.

Oh no, don't worry. Just remember, alias isn't everything. Always check to see if the account itself looks legitimate. Most legit users take time to put some personality into their accounts like social links and pictures, avatars, etc., before they submit anything. They like to link back.

It depends on what genre it was lol.

Eiffel 65 - Blue? You've really never heard of it? Song is legendary, and a good listen, if the answer is no. Plus, a good reference. I've found several submissions and cuts of this song.

Posed as Rukkus/Nightkilla in order to get scouted for the audio portal, and has now removed all of the stolen audio. Please unscout this guy.

Actually, that was me. He's been permanently banned and all the audio removed. @CatofSnow, @FirepowerX, and @Ravitex's comments clued me in, as well as the user's own comments. Somehow, he managed to get scouted either by GD thieves or naive users, as you can see from his post.

Thanks for the tip, guys. Keep up the good work.

That's what it looks like, and Rukkus' tracks are often stolen for this reason exclusively. Basically falls in line with immature users trying to get scouted because they think that's the only thing stopping them from getting illegal, copyrighted, stolen songs into GD -- not, you know, an actual userbase helping out actual human mods to keep the site clean of this crap -- and they don't care that @Zhenmuron never intended for them to run around stealing tracks. Not only that, but they also don't seem to get that revenge flagging other users' stuff doesn't do anything except damage their own whistles, and that most of us don't care about zero bombing on our own audio, since, hey, every sour-grape thief only gets to do it once, and it's reviews that matter.

Thanks for the help. :)

@Cank, what were you about to say about "up to something else"?

Protip: you can be born way after an era and still enjoy that era's music a bunch. Certain music being old doesn't make it any less good today, and everyone is free to indulge entirely in the pop hits of years past.

The unfortunate thing is, the more time we spend digging for songs like that, not only the more quality content are we losing out on thanks to these bullies, but the more the GD thieves that started the mainstay of this shit are freely submitting to the unscouted (and duping users into scouting them, as we've seen today). I've removed a good 25 stolen, midi-ripped, and copyrighted songs just skimming; passed out about half as many bans. That's not including the count from earlier before I took a break to ease off a migraine -- just the past couple hours in between housework.

I've got to take a nap. I've been up over 24 hours without realizing it (pain). o.o

If you find any copyrighted stuff, especially with any samples of the original, we really need to get it off the site, but I'm always sad to see a well-mixed master work like that go because some damn suits want to hoist us up by the pockets. What I personally would appreciate more help on is looking over pgs 1-5 on the unscouted. I try to get as many stolens as I can, but with these damn headaches and housework, there's no way I can catch every single one -- at least not and also find time to leave reviews and words of encouragement for the legitimate artists, which is something I dearly enjoy. The more flags and reports you send in, the closer we all get to a cleaner, better, friendlier, more efficient, honest NG.

"I'm blue, I'm in need of a guy" is what I heard at one point but I guess that's my mind hearing what it wants to, since in actuality they're just saying "I'm blue da ba de da ba die," it's meaningless.

At 1/24/17 12:18 PM, BlueAlpha14 wrote: Especially considering the type of music I listen to started being a thing around '11.

You should try branching out some fam.

Also I guess it's up to me to point out pop music from any era is not objectively worse than any other era, you just only remember the decent songs, vs. new un-tempered music that will inevitably have a few misses in the set. Music overall (outside of pop) is definitely greater than it's ever been, nostalgia aside.

Alphaville is signed to a major record label, the track has to be removed anyways.
