This has been brought up before, according to Tom. The problem with that is, not only are IPs a lot of the times flexible, changing between sessions occasionally, but with some ISPs, you may ban that person one day, but the next you're banning someone else on that IP and the GD thief has been doled out another for their session. They can also go to a coffee shop or a friend's house and get around an IP ban, and believe me, some of these idiots are that determined. It's better for the end-user if we just permaban their accounts and keep an eye out, but to do that, we need a hand from the userbase.

For those of you who keep up with this thread, I'll be coming out with a guide for how I identify stolen audio, which I'll later put out as a podcast-y thing for those who don't like reading. It should help get the thing down to a science.

My pleasure. Certainly a job, but I enjoy it. Headed home tomorrow. 9 hour drive. I've written out that comprehensive guide to flagging rule-breaking audio. Just need to proof read it, edit, record, w/e. I mean, because who doesn't love whistle points from a good, accurate flag? End result, everyone benefits.

In particular, the unscouted section is a hotspot for thefts. New accs with junk descrips, no credentials/links, junk tags, suspiciously good content. You name it. It's been a busy day here and I've still probably gone through 100 or more submissions that were stolen. Yesterday, I stumbled upon some guy from 2005-2006 that had stolen about 9 tracks from the Rurouni Kenshin OST and gotten away with it for quite some time by passing it off as his own. 'Course, it was harder to find OST mp3s back then. Others I've seen in the past couple days may upload the same song twice with different junk and that tips me off.

I think the Shinrog is original. If you google "Infertehno", you get more results than "Eternal Rave". That also explains why Dimrain47 didn't post that song on NG.

@MonsterboyGD You're doing a pretty good job coming up with stolen content, but watch for stuff that might be legitimate. Also, I notice you're not flagging any of these as you go through the list. What a waste! You'd be half-way to a silver whistle by now, I think, had you flagged all these. Additionally, I found a ton of other stolen audio on some of the submitting accounts, so keep an eye out for that, and start flagging things (correctly)! It's faster for me to go through a flag than a text post, as I immediately know what to look for and why.

@Jackho and @BlueAlpha14, good finds. Nice to see recurrent helping hands are on deck, always.
