There was something Tom Fulp said that sometimes causes stolen submissions to be overlooked. I forget what it was.


Making huge lists. You don't want to stop part way thru a list, so you decide not to do it yet and to come back to it later and it gets overlooked. Or, 9 get done but one of the 10 gets missed.

That's why I always post lists consisting of 5-7 stolen tracks. Making smaller lists make no sense while creating one with 10 or more tracks can be simply discouraging for a moderator to go through. Even making such a list takes some time: check bookmarks, write a reason, copy-paste youtube address in the report, copy-paste NG address to the list, copy-paste youtube address to the list, sometimes write some additional info...


But I noticed some progress :-) So 4 down, 12 to go :-)

I don't mind lists, but I have to plan time accordingly. I work on a time budget of 20 tracks and hour, which adds up fast. Add on to that having to check if anyone scouted the thief, then check that whole branch. And grab the ones from the artist which weren't flagged (y'all missed 5 free points btw).


Also, I do work from oldest to newest where possible in our flag system. That also includes general community flags which don't end up in this thread.

It's important to check each item to make sure to minimize mistakes. Sometimes the artist is legit.


I would also allot a certain time of the day toward moderation duties


Life finds a way (to mess with your plans). I've had periods where I can give 2-3 hours a day of time, and others where I can't manage that in a month.

As for other points from your discussion: if I find a stolen track I actually usually do check the whole account in search for others. Of course I can miss something if I don't recognize a track or a remix.


As for the people that scouted them...
