Writing on a chalkboard? Dust kinda gives me that impression.

And oh well.... I enjoy the beat of the drum a lot, and I've even recorded myself playing -- but most times, whether it be for prayer or pleasure, I simply let my hands dance upon the skin.

Wow, that's actually a really good guess...but no.

Dust actually refers to resin, which is used to keep my bow from squeaking on the strings. The "board" refers to the fingerboard (i.e., the black piece under the strings).
