Breaching gracefully
Exhaling, rippling ocean
Gliding through rough waves
It's been a while since I've posted here
Nighttime, motel room
Plastic artificialness

Calendar rolls over
I can't sleep in anymore

On every Sunday
Over half the damn town goes
to cult--I mean, church.
Flies, fleas, mosquitoes,
Welcome, friends, to Florida:
Land of the Insects.
These haikus will not
ever be sponsored by
Raid Shadow Legends.
Wonder if I should post these on my Bluesky acct?...

You eat, sleep, shit, go to work

There's only one rule for those who wish to take part, and that is that you must take long, soul-cleansing sips of herbal tea for each haiku you post to this thread. Don't think that there will be no consequences for breaking this rule. And don't think that I won't know, because I will know.
Here goes the first one...
The fresh grass quivers
under the chilling night's wind.
It misses the sun.

To rest, you are fucked.

Sounds like a beautiful idea… and a terrifyingly strict beverage policy. I’m in.
I’ve already prepared a selection of questionable herbal teas that may or may not include dried mystery leaves from the back of my cupboard.
Your haiku painted a crisp little movie in my mind.
also sips tea, suspiciously loudly, hoping to be heard across the internet.
My tea is too hot
Tongue now speaks in whale noises
Enlightenment burns

I'm not much of a poetry person, but I've always been drawn to the simplicity of haikus. This has been such a nice thread.
Rain from heaven.
Patters softly.
Soothes my soul to slumber.
Oh and *sips tea*.
Pipes started leaking
Landlady did not appear

Just ate some noodles.
Curry flavour, nice and hot.
Slurped them straight up. Yum.
Long, crooked whiskers
Side by side, tails intertwined
Chirping with content
Stalking alleyways
Various scents fill the air
Happily bonded
Knew I'd have to sweat,
But who knew working on land
Would bust up my feet??...
