As you probably figured out from my recent haikus, I had long shifts at work the past two days. Today's my day off, so how 'bout a more uplifting poem, eh?

Here's making up for one of my missed days...especially since my haiku yesterday was lazy.

Thanks! :D I don't think there's really any proper way to interpret anything, especially a short poem written by a high school-age kid in 90 seconds. XD I was sort of thinking about how sex requires some sort of devotion, whereas masturbation is solely for selfish personal pleasure. Masturbation simply creates false expectations of a fantasized partner, especially when pornography is involved. That's why I mention the "land of lies." The goal of masturbatory fantasies is, in a way, to create a feigned sense of mutual devotion. Anyway, interpret it however you want, though. XD
my haiku yesterday was lazy.
I didn't think it was that lazy...just clever and amusing! ;)

I don't know why you would think that, because in my mind, such a thought like your last sentence needs explanation for me. Not that I'm condemning you or anything, I respect you -- it just strikes me as strange.
Anyway, being religious myself:
When alone in bed,
I hear His distinct voice -- "Child,
Sleep in peace and light."

I agree. I can say the same for myself; I'm not religious, however I know of the impact it has on many lives and I think something as ancient and influential as it is deserves to be written about, drawn, sung about, etcetera. With that being said, I suppose it's Religion Day here in the Haiku a Day thread, so let's go :p
Being the Bigger Person May Come Off a Tad Egotistical (hoorray for titles that are also haikus!! controversial though they may be...)

Haha! That one was good! :D
Interesting how the religious people here find it strange that I find value in writing about religion (given that I'm not religious), while the non-religious people perfectly understand! XD I definitely WAS NOT trying to disrespect anyone, btw. I just think religion is really interesting, and it's definitely worth telling a story about. After all, The Bible is easily the best-selling book of all time.
Anyway, haiku incoming:
