Control-Part XI

"Well, let's get the next match underway shall we?" blurted out Tom to the confused crowd still pondering what had just happened. Tim once again pressed his buttons of fate and the names appeared on the screen. All but two users burst into laughter at the choice that was set up. The two users who weren't laughing stepped up onto the platform. TheShrike came announced "The next match shall be a karaoke contest. Our judge shall be none other than DanPaladin." The rest of the crowd began to burst with even more laughter. Next DanPaladin walked out and decided to tell the contestants the song that he had chosen for the contest. "You shall being singing Dragonsta Din Tai, also known as "Numa Numa" by some." At this point the crowd was bowling over with laughter, Dave thought to himself that he'd probably die while watching such an escapade. But the two contestants were in no laughing mood, BareNakedMike and FullyClothedMike stood across from each other with fire in their eyes.

End Part XI. ;P

Spoilers: no cool battle scenes for you ;_;

The Challenge: All Members Please Read.

So i thought of an idea that i was going to use in the Writer's guild, but i thought this place had more traffic and it might be better to test the idea out here. If all goes well, we can combine the idea with both clubs. So Writer's Guild members can participate also.

The challenge is that everyone writes about the same topic and hands it in for points. Starting off, 5 topics will be nominated and then we all vote for one via email from me. The topic with the most votes is the current topic. The stipulations are that everyone has a deadline as to when the short story(or poem) is done by and we all submit(post here) on the same day. The size limit is one post(so something like 4,000 characters).
Then the voting sheet will be sent out to everyone with the list of submissions(all submissions must have titles) and you give your favourite 3 points, second two points and third 1 point. Any others you did not like you give no points.
The reason for voting over email is to stop from upsetting ppl with your votes and cease any potential arguments. It also ensures a more honest vote, don;t vote for your friend or who you think is 'normally' good, but the best of that time. Reviews of the submissions are aloud, but only after the final scores have been posted.

I wasn't sure if the time limit should be 1 week or 2, so i am looking for peoples opinions there. Iwas thinking two weeks after i post the topic and we can do one a month?
If you are interested please say so i can add you to the mailing list.

If you have suggestions or comments, please say, because this was kind of a spontaneous idea that may be able to be vastly improved.

Thanks for voting, M-A-R-C-U-S!
Your experience points gave you a voting power of 6.09 votes. Your blam and protection points gave you an additional 32% of your experience power, meaning that your total vote power was worth 8.04 votes!

Another Myst Poem:
Inspired by Thomas Hardy.

He, At Her Bed
Hardy Verse
By, K. Myst Williams

I kneel alone aside your grace-
Hands pressed tight, none I opt to see;
A gentle pass upon your face;
A heart of mine, a look on thee;
As life itself pass upon its leave.
Through gentle rising, a slight touch;
I join you high, soul join with me,
Whilst my heart seizes all as such.

A quick heads up... everyone check near the end of the last page for a proposal for a competition/fun writing challenge.
EVERYONE READ IT!

Also, i would appreciate comments on my poem near the top of this page.

I am out for the night... just reminding all of the challenge, so no one skips over it by accident.

Response to Late Night Lounge 2005-01-19 21:43:00

Yes, Myst. I did read through your little contest. I suppose 2 weeks would suffice. ;D

Control-Part XII

But the light-hearted mood was soon overshadowed by Wade, who then said "Well, it's best we get this started. Let's have you two play Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who shall go first." At the mere mention of that game the audience ceased movement and froze in fear. The two Mikes then played the game normally, BareNaked throwing out rock and FullyClothed throwing out paper. "I'll let him go first," said FullyClothed. BareNakedMike then grabbed the microphone and began to sing along with the song, throwing in many random and comical movements that kept the crowd laughing. Dan was jotting down notes the entire time. When it came to FullyClothedMike's turn he tried his best to kept the audience laughing, but somehow it is never as funny seeing the "Numa Numa Dance" being performed a second time. At the end Dan said "The score for Mike was 8.9 and the score for Mike was 9.8, both out of 10." He then walked off the stage. The crowd was confused as to which score was which, but it became apparent all too soon.

End Part XII. =P

Spoliers: Numa Numa rules. :o

A nice little midnight addition to the LNL. ;D

Control-Part XIII

Suddenly without warning the top of the microphone in the center stage popped off. Out of it slithered a deadly cobra. Before anyone could make a move or take hold of the situation the cobra had already leapt at FullyClothedMike and began rapidly biting him in several vital points. And still before anyone had realized what was going on the snake was gone, Nephthys was escorting BareNakedMike to the back room, and FullyClothedMike's dead corpse was being carried off by FUNKbrs and Alastor to the dark back room. "Ah, look how quickly we are progressing, three rounds seem to have gone by in mere minutes," laughed liljim from his balcony high up. "I'm sure we could spare a break for the users, just look how shocked they are!" said gfoxcook as he nearly feel over laughing. "I don't mind that," said Tom, "The rest of you are free to have a talk, enjoy your time while you can." The grim faces of the users were all that Tom saw as he said this.

End Part XIII. =P

Spoliers: Break time!

o.o .... o.O*~! Hey wait! Hey... Goemon, didn't you quit the Lounge? I could have sworn ya did... Anyhoo, I came in to read Quisty's story. ^^
She told me that she made one about me and I was interested. :3 Hehe, So Goemon killed me in this story too? XD It's sorta funny how you keep being blamed for the killer when I get killed in stories...I mean like...if I'm dead. ^_~;; hehe, it was sweet of her to make one of me. It felt really neat that people here remembered me a little bit. xD And the comments about my stories gave me an ego boost.
Anyhoo, I left the lounge only because I stopped making stories as often as I used to. I used to make them alot but now I've so many things I have to fit into the same amount of time I decided to slow down the writing. I still write sometimes but nothing spectacular (...did I spell that right?).
Hiya Onic. Hiya Quisty. Hiya ~X~. Hiya Marcus. Hiya Snerd. hiya Scary. Hiya Goemon. Hiya... uh... I think that's all I can remember off the top of my head o_o;... sorries. I see the club is still going strongly.

Response to Late Night Lounge 2005-01-20 02:09:40

Well, I can't say I regret too much but yeah it'd be the reason I haven't wrote many stories lately too. That and video games. mabies I should start making stories again. They really did get the stress off alot (games took the place of it since then).

Response to Late Night Lounge 2005-01-20 04:25:20

I think that the reason the LnL is alive again is because I came back and inspired Onic to post more, and we started writing funny stories about each other again. In a purely non-homosexual way. But I'm going to change that with my next story, if I ever get around to it :D.

Funny thing, I have only been in this club a few days again, and I think I could name every member that's posted since I was back off the top of my head. With the exception of one. Oh well...muahaha...

Hey Quisty, post more to your story! I'm keeping up on yours and BonusStage's stories. They are getting interesting, hha.

Well, now you all are caught up. I was out all yesterday and couldn't write ahead. =/

Control-Part XIV

Soon chatter rose with the loud voice of j00bie. "What in the world are we doing? There are over 50 of us and very few of them I'm sure that we coul----" M-A-R-C-U-S had immediatly ran up behind j00bie and knocked him down. "What was that for?" inquired j00bie confused. In a low tone M-A-R-C-U-S replied "You know we don't have a chance against them, we have no power compared to them, even with numbers. Now shut up before you get yourself taken into that back room." There were also other side conversations going on about the similar matter. One user, Alkador, walked over to a corner in the room to try and figure out a weakness in the walls. Up from the dark corner came forth DanMalo. "OH! I'm sorry, I'm sorr---" Alkador was cut off as DanMalo covered his mouth with his gauntlet. "If you want to live you shall do exactly as I say. I, Saturday, Freakapotimus, and HAQnSPITT all are deserters of Tom's insane plan. Do as I say and you just might live."

End-Part XIV. =P

Spoilers: Yay for deserters. ;D

Nice addition Quisty, a nice, light, fun read.
Bonus/Kiba (not sure if you guys ever switched back or?) I like how your is coming along. I am behind to posts, but i will catch up tonight when i have more time.

If some people didn't quite get my poem near the top of this page, some backround for ya:

It was inspired my 'She, At His Funeral' by Thomas Hardy. His poem was written in 1898 and was about a mistress quietly attending his funeral away from his family as to keep their secret a secret.
My poem is about him being an angel, or soul and is looking over her as he has mixed emotions about her at her deathbed. He can't bare to watch her die, but he wants her to join him so they be in love again and be togethor in heaven, or the afterlife.

Ya, i know, pretty crazy i fit all that into 8 lines and 65 syllables, but i finally got it down on paper.

Sorry if it confused anybody.

Response to Late Night Lounge 2005-01-20 07:47:22

Nice stories Kiba and Quisty, but i think i would be talking to ramagi about her stats on NG since she is the Queen B/Per, and she has like 16 times the amount i have. But it doesnt matter, atleast im in it this time.

So DanMalo's a traitor eh, doesnt suprise me at all Kiba.

Sweet :)
Bonus quoted me but didn't talk about me joining or anything.

Speaking of BonusStage, I was chatting him on AIM the other night and told him about a dream of mine. He posted it on the dream interpretation crew, but there haven't been any responses, so I thought I'd post it here and get some opinions on it.

Here goes:

I'm standing on a cloud/white platform, in a place a lot like most people's view of Heaven. The strange thing is, Satan, of all people is there, on the platform with some of his servants. He's shaped like a man, but with an evil face.

I start to pray, as a challenge to him: "In the name of the Father, and of the Son and the...". He cuts me short and calmly says, "We'll have none of that shit here." He then addresses one of his servants by name, a strange name that I cannot now recall. It dawns on me that they are about to brand me with some symbol, y'know, with hot iron? So I run past the Devil and jump off the edge of the cloud, just behind him. I start to freefall. I haven't fallen far when I wake up.

It's the way I woke that confuses me. I didn't jolt or wake up anxious or anything, I just calmly woke up and fell asleep again. There was a great feeling of serenity and safeness in the room as I fell asleep again, and I wasn't scared. I had a strong feeling that I had just made the right decision or something.

I'm not a religious person (though I was rasied a Catholic) and I don't believe in God or the Devil, but I'm open minded about it, not completely athiest. I don't remember many dreams, but this one has stuck with me (I had it a few months ago) So what do you guys think?
