No, I'll have to check them out though...

They are a mix of just plain old metal, with some old-school DJing effects...

If you want to hear Arsis, that american Melodic Death Metal band I mentioned, here is one of their songs :

one of the best bands ever is "The Berzerker"

Response to Metal Hell 2004-09-12 00:24:37

Ha? This didn't get posted earlier so I'll rewrie it.

A good yet not well known band is The Haunted. They're kinda a mix of styles, one songs sounds like Death while another is heavy metal of the old school kind. They are realy good. I'll try to find some free samples on the net.

If words were wisdom, I'd be talking even more.

I love the Haunted, I have the One Kill Wonder and The Haunted Albums. Downward Spiral and D.O.A = Great Songs.

As for Arsis, and RageofOrder's comment, Yeah they have a very fast tempo in most of their songs, their drummer is just amazing, They are a band that I found myself liking a lot more when i had listened to them many times over, Their melodies take a while to digest and fully come out often.

Opeth, I just heard a multitude of their songs and I am now insanely hooked on their smooth melodies... anyone else like Opeth?

I actually think that Mikael's growls are some of the best out there. I love "Masters Apprentices".

Anyways, I'm back from girlfriend, had a nice time :) and I bought Amon Amarth's "The Crusher" and I love it! I didn't get Versus The World though :( Wasn't available.

I Love opeth too, have most of their albums, as for his vocals, they are some of the best around, both growls and clean, lol as Dan Swano said when he left bloodbath, they lost the best growling vocalist around.

Also cool about the cd and glad you had a good time vomitory :)

I can't stand them. I seriously just hate Within Tempation, the vocals are some of the worst of I've ever heard. The guitars are not good either.

You are 100% correct about Otep. I thought I was the only Nu-Metal Guy around here. It's nice to have company lol.
