Amon Amarth have good lyrics if your interested in the viking mythology. Especially if you listen to the versus the world.

Also on the point opf instrumental metal, Sleep terro, they are pretty good. Like instrumental necrophagist.

I checked them out they are pretty awesome, any other bands you can recommend that touch on Necrophagist's style and technicality?

This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

YES for Sonata Arctica.

But White Pearl, Black Oceans > everything DragonForce have done/will ever do.

What about FullMoon, Replica, Don't Say a Word, Caleb and some other awesome songs by them?

They probably think Trivium is Power Metal.

Like one of my real life friends. XD

I don't want you to go with me >:(

Yay!

I recommend everyone who havn't listened to that album to avoid it!

It's a concept album, so all the lyrics link together and tell a story.

Yes, but the story sucks.

theyre still damn good blues-rock though.
my favourite metal bands lyrically are probably the old more politically minded thrash bands like megadeth, anthrax etc. even metallica at times, like for whom the bell tolls. daft lyrics can be entertaining though, as long as the bands dont take it too seriously or act all pretentious about it.

He doesn't like Scenes, thinks its gay. If you remember I told you about him on the bus when we went to buy Systematic Chaos and Awake.

And about today, my mother hasn't shown up, dunno when she will, so getting to yours is looking like an unlikely scenario.
What about tomorrow or the weekend or something instead?

Best lyrics for me have to go to either Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, Devin Townsend/SYL and Death.

I know there's a few non-metal bands in there, I just put what I listen to.
tool = cool :P Lateralus album anyway.
I agree with you about dimmu, i like the Death Cult Armageddon album for its symphonicness, not much else though.
cradle are ok, only like a couple of songs, guitars, drums and bass are too simplistic though.
tenacious d are just funny, no one takes them seriously.
i listen to some yngwie, he's too arrogant though. For those who have seen the vid: 'I dont fuckin like donuts!' haha, fool.
im not a big fan of killswitch or shadows fall, like a few songs though, such as 'My Last Serenade' - Killswitch, and 'The Light That Blinds' - Shadows Fall.
Satyricon are wanaba black metal, but the session keyboardist at Download 06 was cool :p
Prodigy, I like firestarter, thats it.
only like one nightwish song, otherwise they suck teh balls. so do evanescence.
im the same as you on In Flames mate, also with Alice In Chains

thanks btw :)

what exactly do you mean by " outdated " ? so you're saying they suck because they're old ? that's a bit absurd to say that a band sucks because it's old . i guess judas priest must suck too .
