peh, my school's so backward cuz we're so far from cities and civilization in general. its like being in the 70's or something- theres like the 'trendy' people who have short hair, listen to pop & indie etc. then theres longhair types which could be rock fans, metal fans, whatever. the amount of neds/chavs and emo's we have could be counted on one hand. i still get the haircut comments tho obviously.

I know man. Even in the mid 90's, metalheads were respected. Chuck Schuldiner once said, "If you have long hair, you play fast/melodic, you sweat your ass off, guess what? you're metal, most are afraid of the term heavy metal, especially in America today".
