I've had the pleasure of seeing Larry Wright preform in the city.

I gave him $10.

Oh and Gene Hoglan>All Thrash Metal Drummers.

I don't refer to them as messiahs.

Gene Hoglan is fat.

Gene is far beyond fat. The mans KitKat Chunky.
And besides, all drummers are fat... well most are.

Which poses the question... Fattest band in Metal.... who is it?
SYL are pretty beefy.

Btw, it's Mike Portnoy's 40th birthday today. What a coincidence.

They drink.

No fat, just drink, and it's been proven that beer doesn't give you a "beer belly".

Plus the actual standing space in the guildhall there is like a third the size of the one we have here in Southampton, whats up with that?

argh the trains area fucking joke it was supposed to take like 8 weeks and now its gonna last until xmas you always have to gwet a bus to fratton before going anywhere pretty much :P

and when i first saw the inside of the guildhall i thought it did seem a little small for a venue (compared to other venues of the same caliber) i think out of all the music that goes on there that was the most decent night for a good while as the next band to play in Portsmouth are i think cradle of filth (with hanzel und gretyl) and i don't think it would be worth the 15 minute walk to the pyramid centre down on the front :P

but if you followed the road down from Megabite as it curves round going away from the train station the big building there is my Halls of Residence :D

ditto

I guess Mike Portnoy, Bobby Jarzombek, and Bill Bruford are among my favorite drummers. Carl Palmer is also very good.

Quite funny... you know how couples do the whole romantic 'this is the song that played during our first kiss?'. [snip]

Reminds me, when Trivium did their whole "this is for the ladies" spiel about one of their songs, me and my [soon to be] brother in law turned to each other and death metal roared FUUUCKED. WITH A KNIIIIFE.

We then sang along to the song with those words. And the word "jelly" since the guy can't pronounce "gallows" right.

You do realise alcohol slowers your metabolism right? The whole act of drinking leads to dehydration, that completely destroys your metabolism. So eating with alcohol in your system, which can be up to 24 hours, takes forever to break down, and in general, since most people won't drink water regularly to begin with, but especially after drinking to catch up, they remain dehydrated, which keeps their metabolism down.
Also, where is that proven? I can find articles with research that say the exact opposite
http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/s9 41165.htm for example.

Plus, one guy is fat, and and or two are like "im slightly old n' chubby/out of shape", which goes against just being "big" in the sense of "large" and not "out of shape fat".

But on a more serious note, I'm genuinely feeling suicidal right now. Well, a little bit anyway. I need some antidepressants.

I do not refer to Dream Theater as messiahs.

Atheist fucking rules.

At 3:50am today Deicide were on Rage with a video for their song 'Desecration'. I cried with happiness.

Daath were also on Rage.

.... Followed by Slipknot.
