I object! Really I don't even think of cryptopsy as insanely fast. Ive heard faster. Its not the speed thats attractive, its the song writing. Its catchy almost. Its got that strange addicting element that is rare in metal.

you realize Cryptopsy never had a good vocalist, and their songwriting is atonal and boring.

I disagree, i think the vocals well fit their style.

I find nothing addicting about clicking. I also find no melody or tone in their songwriting. I just hate Tech Death. There's no moments where I can go "FUCK, I just LOVE THAT MELODY! It'S SO VIIIIILE" while listening to cryptopsy.

The rest I can dismiss as just being opinion, but here, you're wrong. Not all death metal bands have monotonous vocals. It's not "part of death metal." Only shitty cliche' death metal bands. The good ones have vocals you can understand. Good death bands' vocalists enunciate. You always tend to think that every band in a genre is stereotypical, and that stereotypical is good.

Well, just like how not every black metal band has paper thin production with cheesy photos and buried bass, not every death band has atonal wank fests with monotonous gurgled vocals.

Demilich, on the other hand, have fucked up, off kilter, unpredictable, and interweaving riffs over drumming that's sometimes "against" the grain of the guitars, and vocals so low you'd think he was talking out of his intestine, yet they're still intelligible.

Wow, I just have to check them out. So.... They're better than Necrophagist then?

Anyway, Lord Worm is fucking awesome! He's not the greatest death grunt in the land, but he's original and worthy of the title, "Good".

Some of the stuff he can do is mind blowing.

I always loved Lord Worm's songwriting, but not his vocals. Especially on None So Vile.

Sven Gross, Peter Tagtgren and Glen Benton are better.

Glen Benton is great, but he never really did anything for me. He just didn't stand out much. He has a great, ultra low grunt but nothing that really seporates him from everyone else.
