Rush isn't metal. Nu Metal blows. Hair bands are Metal. That's Metal's origin. Iron Maiden, WASP, Crue, etc. Hair metal was a huge thing back then and it still lives strong. Thanks to the HOUSE OF HAIR! God Bless Dee Snider. Anywho, ever since that shitty revolution called grunge came along, and ruined hair metal, and all sent metal to a screeching halt, sadly. Nothing, and I mean nothing will replace the old, great metal.

I think they are pretty much okay in my books. Dimmu Borgir and Darkthrone are better.

Well, I always got out of Children Of Bodom's way, because I listened to one song a while ago, and I didn't like the vocalist.

I tried it out once more and...well, I'm pretty much amazed that I like them so much now....they rock :)

Well, the vocals are bareable at last. The guitar work is amazing, indeed. The solos rock. The keyboards rock, the drums rock.

I mean like Poison, Whitesnake... Twisted Sister is AWESOME I wouldn't consider them hair bands... I think true metal is all a matter of opinion and there are many types of metal...

I love "Kill The Idealist", "Dance Of The Water"and "Black Roija" the most I think. Amazing stuff, indeed.

All of their 3 albums ROCK

Ver y nice. Yeah, I have hard times finding correct tabs on the net. It's rather difficult. Especially for Kalmah.

Actaully since the types of metal were defined a long while ago they just define every original band as nu metal. I mean LP and System of a Down are nothing a like. Besides there's nu metal that's really good such as System.

Hair bands are Metal. That's Metal's origin. Iron Maiden, WASP, Crue, etc. Hair metal was a huge thing back then and it still lives strong.

So what if it is the origin of metal, it is mstly crappy. Maiden are gay.

Nothing, and I mean nothing will replace the old, great metal.

I say Pantera, Death, Slayer and so on are much better and can replace all that ancient crap.

I do respect the elders of metal and rock, even though I dont listen to them. And yes, I think Maiden is a little overrated.

It is good, one of their best songs. But I can't understand the whole hype around this band. Bruce Dickinson is not that great, in my opinion.

so i know i haven't posted in a while and this has probably been said already, but when are the headbanger forums going to be back up?

now that that is out of the way, how is everyone? high speed internet is nearly here and i am happy. i miss posting in here on a regular basis. oh well. has anyone heard the band 3 inches of blood? they are a thrash metal band from canada. they are pretty kick ass. you should all check them out. they sound like a lot of older metal like old metalica and the like. give them a listen.

Response to Metal Hell 2004-07-08 23:45:10

Of course Mudvayne is awesome. Ryan is just an awesome bass player. Maiden is a little over-rated, especially because there cd sound the same.

Actually, yes. I do respect the contribution they made to the music world. I don't listen to the music, but I understand the progression from that to now. I'm not saying you have to like the music, but understand the way things are. They made today's music possible.

You might as well respect Pithagoras (I guess that's his name) as well. without him we wouldn't have guitars and you should respect every bard that lived in the middle ages since he contributed so much to todays music. If you go around respecting so many people you respect's worth is not that high.

Fine! Good to hear that.

Heard of them, just a song or two though, it sounded a little like a mix of Exodus and Metallica to me :) Pretty good.

Oh, and I don't think Killswitch Engage is Nu-Metal. It's a Death/Metalcore mix, not exactly what I love, but still pretty good.

I didn't take the time to find that fact, it's a well known fact. At least I've known it since the age of 15. It's not like I googled the word guitar and then read through every site that had the word guitar on it.

Wall I made a new wallpaper for myself and was thinking of what everyone thought? (Click here)

To see it corrrectly (and you have a 1024x768 desktop setting) just set it as background. I am VERY proud of it.

You like it?

It's really great but I personaly think it would be better if the guitars replaced two lines of the pentagram inatead of just beig fairly close to them. Also you might try making the guitars look more like King's (of Slayer) new guitar, he's got the best looking guitar I've ever seen.

Did you draw the wallpaper yourself? I gotta admit it looks awesome.
