Apparently I do a good Quorthon impression.
I'm a sucker for piano intros.
Although it's not "metal" per se, I love the intro to This song.
For metal, my favorite intro is...Dream Theater - Endless Sacrifice (or something similar, this one just stuck.)
well, since the Ascention (by Manowar) is technically an intro to King of Kings, the Ascension is pretty fucking sexy.
" So what's this called again?"
"Hypocrisy"
"Ok, just making sure it's not a cult or anything"
"It's just metal, mom"
"Well there's an upside down cross..and that um...what is it called"
"A pentagram?"
"ya! One of those.."
"Man, did you just let the 666 get by you?"
"WHERE!?"
I actually had to be taught to stitch in order to do this. lolz.

She's a sweet ol newfie born in very conservative times, but I really respect and appreciate her very open mindness and acceptance for a lot of things considering where she was born, and in the 1940s through 50s. A very ignorant and judgemental generation( not that it's that much better today, but on a lot of subjects at least).
She doesn't approve things like this full heartedly, as you can tell through conversations like I posted above, but she tries really hard to let people be who they need to be. Sometimes we joke about it too, like my style or music, which is always hilarious from a 4"11 newfie.
So in other words, I lurve muh mum. God bless her short lil' soul.

My mom listens to a lot of metal and both parents let me curse, even though I don't cuss often.
I also can leave my house whenever I want and watch porn no questions asked.
Except, if I do badly in school.

Yeah, it's gonna be a bit longer before my dad (Bill) gets back on. He'll be on within a couple of weeks, hopefully.

They're getting pretty popular, you know. I saw a review of their EP in Terrorizer.
And my fav intro is probably Dream Theater's '6:00'. I'm a sucker for drum intros.

You silly bastard. I can tell them apart. :P
Still, judging by what I've read about Power Metal and Progressive, I can't tell the difference anyway. D:
You are very very silly.

Maybe it's not what you're into, but there's new albums from Dream Theater, Manowar, Megadeth, Sonata Arctica and Symphony X that I'm looking forward to coming out in the next few months and there's also Helloween's new live album.

I'm not sure about my favourite intros, but intros like Blind Guardian - Follow the Blind and Iron Maiden - Aces High that I like a lot.
Lemme in this group! I'm into Fear Factory, Cannibal Corpse, C.O.B., Trivium, and Zao.

Ayreon is a project led by Arjen Anthony Lucassen. It's basically Progressive Rock/Metal which contains hints of classical and folk. Very interesting, usually make concept albums.
Guest artists include James LaBrie of Dream Theater and Mikael Ã…kerfeldt of Opeth, on the Human Equation album.
I highly recommend you guys check out Ayreon, check out the Human Equation album.
Nice Power Metal / Classic Heavy Metal list you got going on there.
Cheers :)

OMG!! Must find.
And best intro = Beating Women (Makes My Cock Hard).... or Space-Dye Vest or something.

This is one of my favourite Ayreon songs, "Day Sixteen: Loser":

The video's a bit weird, but it's the music you want. The version on that link is the single version. Unfortunately the album version is a bit different, including the fact that it doesn't have the awesome Keyboard solo vs. guitar solo bit as seen in that video.
I was right about my friend failing to appreciate Avantasia. He complained about it after a while.

Yes, it is power metal, not progressive.

My mom is awesome. She's very open minded and doesn't judge what I listen to or watch. Plus, she's not a conservative nutball like some parents I know.

Try ''The Drapery Falls''.
It has a mix of singing and death vocals
Also, did you know that there is a piano that's played in Opeth's songs?
.....I only need one more album to have every album by Opeth.
It's Still Life----and I have all of the songs on my computer.
Don't get me started on Opeth...

I enjoy all of their songs, really. Except for Ghost Reveries and Deliverance, where I only like a few. Especially that fucking song ''Wreath'', it has no changes and just has the Death Metal elements that Opeth has ---- in other words, boring.

Badly too.
