Thank you.

In unrelated news, Behemoth's Demigod album has become a very, uh, loud interest for me. I downloaded the entire CD and I have to give it a 79/100.

VERY hard to come by, but worth the effort.

Burzum (later works, not a big fan)

Agreed, nothing amazing, but it's passable.

Brian Eno (anything is great)

I love his works with David Bowie.

Sunn O))) (although drone doom, it still counts. As said above, anything is good)

Great band.

Gotta love David Bowie. Eno was also important to the Noise Rock scene in NYC.

Great band.

Yup. Especially the Collabs with Earth.

Fucking God, that's obscene.

Gotta love David Bowie. Eno was also important to the Noise Rock scene in NYC.

Yeah, he produced No New York, which made No Wavers like Teenage Jesus legends.

Yup. Especially the Collabs with Earth.

And Boris, Sunn O))) and Boris combined are a tour-de-force of avant-garde amazingness.

Trip Hop ( whether it land more on Electronica or Jazz/Bohemian sounds) is my pretty much only "other" love in music besides Metal and classic Rock.

I mean, I can listen to some rap, or some hip hop, classical etc etc..I wont disclude anything I like that I hear, no matter by who or what genre..
But I can't list them as things I listen to, because they aren't something I find passion in, or search for info on, meanings, albums, backgrounds, etc etc...

Trip Hop is also my 'art' music. It's creativity that you consume through your ears, which makes majoring Fine Arts slightly more easier when they expect you to put aspect into everything you do *rolls eyes*

You guys are pretty hypocritical. What's wrong with the band anyways? They are a lot better then a lot of the band lists I've seen on here. I'm sorry if I don't see metal in just one category of screaming and generic riffs. Theres a lot more to it than that. As far as fagging up the place look at your profile pic. I was just stating an opinion so fuck off yo.

I listen to ambient, glitch, and shpongle (unclassifiable) in addition to metal, as well as classical (lots of it) and atmospheric rock (everything from Polly's Orchid to Pink Floyd).

Metal is not the only thing I listen to.

And to Muffdiver, I hate screaming and one riff songs. Or rather, I prefer singing and melodious riffs.

I listen to Metal, some rock, some ambient, some 80s-pop (not the gay kind) and lots of folk.

No way, basic pentonic scale riffs are so new age! I mean, Smoke on the Water is like the only song that uses it!

Oh, and all those Metallica songs.

And the Mission Impossible theme.

And Green Onions.

And 60% of all songs ever written!

I hate the radio (but only hear it when I'm in the car). They don't play any good songs and I'm likely to hear a very popular song over a thousand times on the radio (e.g. Gnarls Barkley - Crazy). :(

Response to Metal Hell 2007-02-01 12:56:17

I only listen to the classical station on the radio. That's the only stomachable station on the radio in these parts, unless you like pop punk, pop rock, pop, pop rap, or oldies. The Bone (107.7) is good (they play "classic" rock), but it's too inconsistent. So 102.1 (KDFC), the classical station, is the one I listen to.

Richmond and the greater Alameda/Contra costa/Solano area is probably in worse shape, and is of similar area (about half the area.) It suffers from almost criminal mismanagement, financial irresponsibility, and skyrocketing crime rates.

And our food sucks.
