Not really, if you check up some of the riffs, and the fact they've got very similar ideas for teh vocals and stuff, you'll find things match. It's a subtle rip off, but it's there

At first, there is a nice difference in the vocal work, Cristina's(Coil) voice is higher and far more variable, just look at the difference between the album "Halflife" and "Comalies". She can sing very deep as well, you can hear that in many songs on "Halflife"

Listen to "Tight Rope" now and tell me any similarities to Evanescence.

Oh, and by the way, how can a band, that existed 3 years before the other one, rip them off?

Warlock did, but they weren't gothic, just plain Hair Metal. =P

Ah, I know them :P Their singer is called "Doro" and she's still active in a solo carrier.

Omfg, I so love it when we talk about bands from the late 80's Death Metal birth! Deicide are the only survivours craaying the torch of that scene, though ,as their the only ones to have never split up, or changed line-up. And we all know what Glen used the torch for, now don't we..?

Hehe, yes. They have lived through the uprising Melodic Death scene(wich I love, by the way). Same with Cannibal Corpse, they have always been amazingly gory and had never disappoint album, which sadly, lots of old bands have today. "The Wretched Spawn" was indeed a good one :P

Morbid Angel's still kicking, but has had a few line up changes on the route. Heretic=Shit hot.

Same with Death Angel and Annihilator. Especially the latter. They only have Waters(bass) left from the old days. But I like them a lot better now.

Yeah, they are also a bay-area trash band. A little death too :P I liked their albums "Bonded By Blood" and "Tempo Of The Damned" I sometimes just have a little hard time with their singer.
