lmao, k
Crotchtopus has a lot of DG elements, so does Cain Sings the Blues.
Don't expect too much though, they switch genre like, every 5 seconds.
Well, I'm just posting here so GC will notice it. Uh, GC, I'm starting a funeral doom metal project. Want to join on vocals and guitars? If so, I'll be doing guitars, bass, and drums, and maybe vocals if the style permits. I already got a few riffs written, it sounds as if Jerry Cantrell and Varg Vikernes combined to do funeral doom metal.
I'm also posting this in teh black metal grimclub, where it's more appropriate.

Sounds good to me, give me samples when you got some, I want to hear what you're coming up with. I've developed into quite a doom lover, so if I like it, I'll probably take part.

Ecliptica is pretty damn good as well, but I like Silence the most...

Mmmm I love them! Iunno why, but I've been listening to Silver Tongue over and over. I do that a lot with music. Go through a giant list of a band, until a certain song just grabs me and I'll reloop it till i lose interest and find another song from them or another band and etc,,,
RoseSOAS: you should know i dont think this far ahead
Me made simple: well you already thought as far as holding a chicken while in your underwear

Hell Yes. I forgot to them on the list. They're incredible.

I think Sonata sucks. Dunno, just don't like them.
I command you all to listen to the new DEICIDE EP. If you thought they were boring, listen again. The EP rules.
I've been listening to Opeth now for way too long... the same songs over and over and over again. The past month has passed almost entirely while listening to Black Rose Immortal, Blackwater Park, Bleak, Ghost of Perdition, Harvest and Windowpane... time after time, repeating... And what's even worse, I've developed a fancy to their Death Metal vocals... My world's getting twisted! And I can't get enough of those guitars... SOMEBODY KILL ME! NO WAIT, THAT'S WHAT THEY WANT ME TO SAY...!

Beneath the Mire. Especially because of the intro.
Hey. I stumbled across this, and I couldnt pass up a Metal Club. This is going to sound very sad, but I think I've got questionable taste in metal, if my favorite band is Rammstein (BEFORE Rosenrot), followed by those corny bands like System of a Down. I DO, however, enjoy some good 'ol stuff like KoRn and Slipknot now and again, so i'm not tasteless. Anyone got an album I shouldn't pass up? I'm free to your suggestions, just don't mock my tastes.

I'm not mocking your tastes, but none of those bands you just spoke of are metal. =]

Grr......too bad we can't hear anything because of the camera. Looks cool though.
Also, to everyone, check out www.pandora.com. It's an online radio stream that has virtually anything. All you do is type in an artist or song name, and it creates a station for you based off of the sound of that particular entry. It's pretty cool, it's a good way to discover new bands and such.

Doesn't work too well unless the stuff you're looking for is mainstream. Even if you're looking for more mainstream metal like Suffocation or Overkill the results you get are nothing like what you're searching for. Last.fm on the other hand has some quite relevant recommendations.

I saw them on Friday. And I technically got back yesterday from the actual festival.
I thought they were amazing. Although I was quite dissapointed that they didn't play 'You Suck'. I know you don't like it. But it would of been great to hear the crowd sing along to that shit.
Still they were ace nonetheless. I was at the front too and the bass ripped me apart. Was lovely.
And Dev's an utter legend. I love the man.
they played 4 songs from the new album this time. Only the song 'the New Black' and Polyphony were nice. The other songs (Wrong Side & (sorry) You Suck) completely miss the impact of their older songs. They were lame actually.
Rest was amazing.

if you're into industrial they will blow you away. If not, they won't. Simple as that.

I mean Devin Townsend is a funny guy, but most of his lyrics are pretty gay, like "I hate everybody" type of nu-metal lyrics. Even some of their riffs are nu-metalish. I just don't see how you can fall in love with the band.
Yeah they got some pretty nu-metalish grooves, but so what? The avarage sound of their songs is just plain damn catchy. Devin is an awesome vocalist, and lyrics like 'I hate everybody' is BULL. SHIT. Yeah there are a few songs like that, but read up on their lyrics, you'll be amazed. Besides, who the fuck listens to what they say anyway? As long as it sounds good it's fine with me.
Apperantly you haven't heard a lot of SYL, I'm guessing only Alien. Try City. Do it.

too many bands to rate. Some of them aren't metal though, for example Trivium, but the huge majority is. Quite a swell list indeed. Welcome in :)
