My band, Misguided, had the first live gig just some time ago. I think it went really well considering the other 4 bands all had some previous experience of playing together live. And, that's a sad thing... There were all sorts of performances there, ranging from punk to acoustic to death metal to nu-metal to us, that's a little bit of hard rock and some metal.
We were out first, the opening band! I gotta say, if your first time in a rock concert is OPENING ONSTAGE... well, we did alright anyhow. It's just that the sounds were really unbalanced so people had hard time hearing the vocals... and that still bothers me.
In any case, people seemed to like us. And though the audience was pretty small, only some 100 people, I think they might come to hear us again.
Our next gig will be a school event, where the estimated audience is probably around 500 people if we're lucky. This time I think we're the only band playing so we'll play more songs(the first gig had a 5-song set). It would be nice to have a full hour gig, since time flies when you're onstage!
And, btw, in my opinion, playing with other bands is easier than playing on your own, since all the preassure is not solely on you.
