Ghoul - That song is fuckin awesome. I love the atmosphere - I really feel like that's the strongest thing you have going for you. Not to say you're musicianship is subpar - quite the contrary, I feel it is exceptional. But, your music, unlike many other bands of any genre, has a wonderful, consuming atmosphere that really feels like you are being taken away...Somewhere, anywhere but where you're at. Thanks. I put atmosphere above everything. I don't care if a song has wonderful musicianship, if the songwriting and the atmosphere is shit, then the good musicianship is wasted. Take new COF, new DB, new Darkthrone, new satyricon, new [name washed up band here]. They have pretty good musicianship, but their atmosphere sucks and their songs are boring.

Ghoul, honestly, this time around I AM impressed by your work with "Queen of the Fimbulwinter" the drumming is nicely varied and well executed, production fits very well, except for the guitars, they are a little to quiet. Other than that it's very good.
Well, Ghoul posted a new song, so I will post a new song from my upcoming debut album too. I tried to adopt more of a greek BM sound, and I think i kind of succeeded with what I was reaching for.

Oh, and the Queen of Fimbulwinter song is from Asgarður's upcoming full length (due in June at the latest) called "Fimbulwinter". I already have 3 songs written and we've recorded one song. The other two are called "Frost Over Jarrow" and "The Vanquished." The latter is going to be a slow, 3 minute outro to the album, with only 4 lines of lyrics. However, all the songs are going to deal with Fimbulwinter.

The nasty guitar tone is gone, and replaced by a more convincing guitar tone, and the drum machine isn't so distracting.
Oh, and I mixed the drums high on purpose -- it made the song sound more rhythmic, since it was plenty melodic already.

What do you think of my drum sound? I use a Vdrum kit with an Alesis module and a Roland CkY-8 double trigger cymbal pad. I love the Alesis module, I can get so many cool sounds out of it. Also, were there too many keyboards? I'm still hung on that. I can't decide whether there were too many or just enough.

The drums are MUCH better IMO, (not that they were bad in the first place), but I like the new direction, they don't sound as...fuzzy, I guess, I'm not sure what to call what they were.
