Well, then maybe you should listen to them first. The guy's in, he posted other bands as well and we are here for educating him :)

nah, sounds like a good show, especially worth seeing if you're an American, since no decent metalbands ever play near you

The sad thing is, you are right....I would go to that if it plays a good venue in Philly, I wanna see Behemoth...

Im rather sad I have to miss a Dark Tranquillity/Opeth show, because its not near me, in fuckin western Pennsylvania near Pitts-fuckin-burgh and there is no way that I can get there. Opeth and Dark Tranquillity for 20$! (Devin Townsend Band as support, but I don't care about them)....That show would fuckin rock, but oh well, I'm done ranting....

Welcome in, borderline guy.

I have to admit GC, that I would have left that guy in.. I quite agree with Ghoul on tha one.

Anyways? how's life going? I am personnaly going just fine. I am deeply plunged into my musical projects and my fiery 'love?' life.
Anyone has any decent musical news?

Btw I am NOT going to Wacken. I agree with all that say that there are more crappy bands than decent ones.

I'd like to say these things:

I like Immortal. Immortal is good. Black Metal is good. I like music.

(in other words, I am un-burying the thread...Where are you people????)

j/k

Well im listening to megadeth's "peace sells... but whos buying" i loves it :D

LMAO anyone heard of the death/grind band "Bathtub Shitter" ? They are from japan, and as expected, are crazy as FUCK. Its normal death metal music with a high pitched tommy pickle scream, its fucking hilarious. :D heheee

I hope to get my new songs started and done by the end of next week. Ill be using a few real instruments and more of my voice, and samples from movies etc.. Still gonna be crazy as fuck cyber grind tho heheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

How's your work with Tomb of... doing?

Response to Metal Hell 2006-02-18 08:08:22

Hi folks!

Metal is still good. I just got a huge new stereo and it makes Belphegor sound all the better. Finntroll also do well through it. I'll try some underground BM and see what happens.

Ive started a band called Kvltasfcuk.
we're just a joke band and an excuse to practice our instruments. We go under prescription drug pseudonyms, im Lipitor, there is Xalatan, Coloxyl and Voltaren Rapid. Ive got 3 songs done, being 'Born Amputated', about a doctor prescribing mutogenic drugs to pregnant women to see what happens to the babies, 'Feeding the Faceless' which is about some guy who has his face and cartilage ripped off and is being fed stuff though the sinus cavity, and 'Lungful of cement' about some guy who is forced to inhale cement powder, then drowned and dried and the lungs are kept for a trophy.

Songs im workin on now are 'funeral induced priapism' and 'human shit cycle' about a guy who gets one end of his large intestine sewn to his mouth so he has to survive on his own shit for a while.

the end.

You are so generous! So open-minded! You will be the end of us XD
My work is progressing slow. I actually work more on the band me and the Tomb of... guy formed than on Tomb of... itself. We've finished 5 songs as Autumnal solitude. But we still have to work a lot on them to make them perfect.
Tomb of... releases something very soon but its just old work, not stuff with me. I will have to wait for the easter to make a proper recording with Tomb of...
But nevertheless I am happy working, and guess what, in easter I will get to meet Akhenaton. Yes, THAT Akhenaton. ^^

So I was on the bus last night and a huge guy wearing an Iron Maiden shirt got on carrying a guitar case. I flashed the horns and he came over to sit next to me. We started a conversation and it turned out he was the guitarist for an awesome local band named The Golers. He gave me their CD and told me they were playing a show next month and I should come. The band is fucking awesome, they're thrash with death overtones and a hillbilly attitude, go to www.golers.ca then click on MP3s for a few samples.

Coolies... That's very very very coolies! It's always a lot of fun meeting the local metal bands. And realising they are simple humans. I always feel so happy after stuff like that happen!
Nice sound, that band has! I usually dont like Thrash too much, but this is quite heavy and I like their attitude. Great band you met there, fellow. Lucky you!

Response to Metal Hell 2006-02-19 09:19:03

I wish there were any good local metal bands, but I haven't seen a local metal scene in Philly (that I am old enough to go to, that is)

I got Come Clarity. The first half of that cd is trash, but the second half is actually some good shit, reminscent of Clayman/Colony, even the teeniest bit of Jester Race, but I would definitly recommend just downloading it...

Through iTunes, that is...

i saw the video for take this life last night, dude that is one huge cheesefest. theyre playing in front of the digital time square theme and all of their new fans (all four or five of them) are posing like jesus on top of buildings. i just had to watch and pray that they jumped. that song kinda sounded a little like stye mixed with claymanish tones. still sucked, though.

Case in point, that song is on the first half of the cd. Don't write it all the way off though, like I said, its no masterpiece, but the second half really is a ton better than the first. They aren't back, its better than what the last two wankfests were...

And I think In Flames still is an overrated band, even for Gothenburg sound

(only two good bands from that era - At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity)

Response to Metal Hell 2006-02-19 13:14:12

Well, for anyone who's tired of the well known Gothenburg bands(In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, At The Gates, Soilwork, etc.) I recommend these:

Suidakra
Insomnium
Nightrage
Chastisement
Amaran

Thankee GChrist, and by the way, what's up with Coffinfeeder? I'm always interested in melodic black.

Well, our awesome drummer left us recently, due to lack of time :( we're currently looking for a new one. Our sound could be described as being similar to Rotting Christ's "Triarchy of the Lost Lovers" album.

Damn man..me too. ;)

Response to Metal Hell 2006-02-20 12:00:18

Well I liked come clarity but i prefered my other most recent CD purchase Gorgoroth Under the sign of hell, now there is an album :) I am also about to recieve Edguy Rocket Ride which if it is as good as Hellfire club i shall be over the moon :). I also got around to purchasing a Eternal tears of Sorrow (Virgin and a Whore) and Character (dark tranquility) both were very good and not what i was expecting.

I also need some help with a choice, I'm looking to purchase either a Mayhem or another Marduk album but i dont know which ones :S, I already have Plague Angel by Marduk which i love (STEEL INFERNO) so dont suggest that one.

oh and i know i havent been around for awhile ive been doing other stuff (check out my link to DA to see what<<< shameless selfplug) I wonder if goatchrist remembers me being around....

Ouch, that sucks.
I currently use a custom Peavey Jazz Bass(The finish is based on the Jaco Pastorious Fender artist model and it has a a P-Bass neck), I don't dislike it, I just want more tonal range.
:The six-string is also being built by Peavey, they make some sexy(and inexpensive) customs!
