I haven't listened to much CC but if it were me, I'd probably listen to a recent live album to start. That might give you a good mix, then you can go from there.

I personally don't mind you posting this here. I'll listen to it tomorrow.

Right now, I'm checking out Cattle Decapitation for the first time. I'm actually really liking their latest album so far.

I listened to the album a couple times. I don't listen to much black metal, but it's actually not bad at all. If I had written and recorded an album like this, especially in one month, I'd be very fucking proud of myself.

But why not upload at least some tracks to NG? I think posting to another site and advertising it on NG is a bit of a dick move.

Nice work though.

I checked out a few tracks but wasn't too impressed. He definitely has talent, but to me these tracks sound like not much more than someone riffing over some backing tracks in order to warm up.

The guitar player from Born of Osiris just did a solo album and I felt similarly about what I've heard so far. Sometimes it's as though the music was created by a random note generator. Something is missing.

This crossed my mind. Maybe I'll upload it (or at least some of it), but I shared with y'all to get your professional metal opinions. I'd also rather people have the WAV version instead of mp3 if they choose to download it.

Thanks a lot for listening, though! I'm going to try to make this a real band and play shows.

I remember reading on Facebook that Clendenin had passed two days ago. It's always sad to see anyone go so young...

Definitely. But I didn't know that the guys from Immortal didn't get along, or at least not on a legal level. So I really wasn't expecting them to disband. It's kind of sad, yes...

Don't post here often, so I figured I would add a photo of what I recently got in the mail.

I never listened to Immortal, but the situation sounds similar to Queensrÿche.

Cool. I got that album in my teens, I think. I still have a Pentagram shirt, too, but it's in rough shape.

I'd totally get a Pentagram shirt. But I have too many shirts as it is. Can't even fit all of em in my dresser O.o

Stuck in the office today, listening to the same old Metal. Really craving for some new doom metal to add to the playlist at the moment.

Any recommendations to share?

I had heard they were going to be on hiatus indefinitely, but I dunno if that's true. I haven't heard any of their stuff since Edu left, anyway. Kiko's a really good guitarist and I think he'll do a fine job with Megadeth.

I asked because Megadeth has already ended bands in the past, and I always consider Dave Mustaine to be responsible, at least in part, for the falling apart of these bands. Eidolon was a pretty good band, in my opinion. And when Mustaine hired the Drover brothers, it pretty much killed Eidolon.

Thanks, I'm still going through the list but I particularly liked Krownn so far. Funny enough I've been catching up in the last few pages of the thread and saw Acid King mentioned. Now I'm totally addicted.

Acid King are a pretty good band. Lori S actually is from my general area. She used to hang out in a forest preserve called the Ned Brown Forest Preserve and a section of it is called Busse Forest Nature Preserve (aka Busse Woods) that is roughly an hour drive away from my town. It's what the album Busse Woods is named after.

The only noteworthy metal band I know of from nearby is Morpheus Descends, which is from a town like 15 minutes away. Other than that, the drummer from Shadow Gallery used to be in a band that was formed in my hometown, but they never really did anything.

Orange. It's down southeast. I think the city would be somewhere around an hour and a half drive from here.
