Going to see If These Trees Could Talk, tomorrow. Very excited about it :)
Hey, I am going to blatantly self advertise right now. A good friend from high school has started a music review website called Target Audience Reviews that I occasionally contribute to (so far I have two reviews up, but they should go up in number and frequency once finals are done). It's gonna be most rock and metal, so please check it out! We would appreciate the views. Also, this is where I am gonna start posting the Metal Calender once January comes around (and barring anymore outlandish technical difficulties). Thanks!

Some sad news (in my opinion), the channel "BlackMetalAlbums" on YouTube has been taken down after operating since mid August/September of last year, posting well over a hundred different albums from a variety of black metal subgenres.
I found a lot of really awesome bands that I had previously not heard of from there, and it's sad to see it go. There's other channels that carry a similar moniker and upload similar videos, but they are of lesser quality IMO.
I recieved my first full paycheck from my new job a while back. And what do you do with your first earned money? Why, you spent it, of course! I bought myself a nice new guitar: Ibanez STM2-SPB. Yeah, it's the DragonForce signature model, but it's a great guitar anyway. Especially since I only own two cheap guitars (Ken Rose and Fender Squire) that in no way can compete with a guitar that costs a thousand euros... :D

Nice axe dude, looks fine! I remember I wanted a guitar with that shape when I was a System of a Down fanboy haha, lost my interest though, but that guitar looks awesome, congratulations on your new acquisition!
Liberals defend the exploitation of man by man, Conservatives defend the reverse.

Yeah, in my country, Floyd Rose is called "Freud Los", which means: "You will have NO FUN at all with a tremolo system this shitty!" haha. (actually "Freudlos" just means: No fun ;) )
But the strings are locked tight. I can use the tremolo as much as I want, the guitar won't lose it's tuning. AWESOME!

Would bands like Born Of Osiris count as prog deathcore or somethin' along those lines?
Yes, Born of Osiris is sick. If you dig them you'd probably dig this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJuU-zjJMyk

I suppose thats like...the only good thing about Floyd Roses. Though it doesn't hurt to have to tune your guitar....
That reminds me. I need to get the lock on the head of my Bich fixed.....

Another possibility, is that weaker individuals or indivuals with various skills will assemble to take you on.

Each of these words imply a lot of political, social, economical and psychological elements. So it's rather difficult to give a simpe explanation that would fit all of these words and what they imply.
But take nationalism, state, etc. These concepts imply identity and the will of individuals and groups of individuals to gather assemble under a common identity they share. I do not think nationalism in itself is a bad thing. In my field of study, nationalism is often considered as a pejorative word. But I disagree. Right now there are historicaly dominated groups fighting to rebuild their common identity. Natives, females, minorities, etc. And in a way, nationalism if it doesn't imply chauvinism, racism and a feeling of superiority or even supremacy shouldn't be considered as a bad thing. Right now in provinces and regions like Quebec in Canada or Catalonia in Spain, there are strong nationalist movements and these are fighting to rebuild and to increase the status of historicaly dominated nations.
As for states. I think they still need to exist today. Your picture suggests some kind of world-wide communist or anarcho-communist global system. Of course, in an ideal world minorities wouldn't suffer from the will of majorities. But as for now, we see how natives, linguistic or ethnic minorities get threated even in the "most democratic countries" (and I use the word democracy loosely here...) and I think that having these groups somewhat separated, or at least having decentralized political instances could help them get their interests respected a little more. I'm not favoring some kind of ethnonationalist states limiting contacts between people, for this would favor chauvinism and probably wars and missunderstanding of other cultures. So states... not ideal... but kind of necessary... at least in our world.
Anyway, not going to saturate the Metal Hell with political and sociological debates :P If you want to join the Metal Hell, list us a 10 bands from your library. I do want to inform you before you do so that you should avoid deathcore, metalcore and the likes when making your list. Thanks :)

The Haunted
Poison the Wll
Machine Head
Soulfly
Arch Enemy
Spineshank
Chimaira
well actually there are a lot more, damn i should have made that list shorter anyways.
I see some of you guys like In Flames and Soilwork, you should really check out Dark Tranquillity if you like them.

6. slayer
7. Metallica
8. Iron maiden
9. Bring me the horizon
10. sabaton

Theres another new Black Sabbath song. "Methademic"
I think it sounds okay. I seriously hope the studio version sounds better than this because Ozzy's vocals seem to progressively get worse throughout the video.

All right for Arch Enemy, Slayer, Metallica, Maiden and Sabaton, but like I said earlier avoid listing bands like
Slipknot - Nu Metal
FFDP - Metalcore
Black Veil Brides - Post-Hardcore/Screamo
Bring Me The Horizon - Deathcore
These genres aren't what we are looking for in the Metal Hell. But judging from the rest of your list, I believe you would still fit in.
So as one of the horsemen of the Metal Hell, I allow you in. Enjoy your stay!
Oh! And by the way, I see you like Power Metal and Melodic Death Metal. So here are some recommandations for both genres:
Power Metal:
Jacobs Dream
Sonata Arctica
Voyager
Labyrinth
Altaria
At Vance
Cellador
Helloween
Melodic Death Metal:
Arsis
Darkane
Kalmah (one of my all time favorite bands)
Dark Tranquillity
Insomnium
Nightrage
Scar Symmetry
If you get a chance to listen to any of those bands, tell me what you think of them!
Lately I've been stuck on Zyklon. The blend of death metal, black metal, and futuristic quasi-industrial themes seems just too irresistable right now. And, on the plus side, it appears the band does not take themselves seriously. At all.
aint those genres just sub genres off of metal any way :?

Not particularly. It's kinda one of those gray area things in the case of Deathcore. However, in the case of "nu metal" and screamo, it's a clear cut case. I say "nu metal" in quotations, because it's not really metal. It's influenced by metal, to be sure, but a better moniker would be nu rock. Screamo is a blend of hardcore and emo; not particularly metal (hardcore punk and emo rock =/= metal).
I don't want to be a douche about this matter, and I'm not insulting either of those genres. But we gotta draw the line somewhere, and we've found what we feel is a good standard and we're sticking with it.
in love with Arch Enemy's new album Khaos legions

They've pretty much been on the decline since Doomsday Machine, if you ask me. I've listened to Rise of The Tyrant back when it came out, but since it was pretty much just more of the same and lacking any kind of novelty or sign that the band was ever going to evolve in anyway, I gave up on Arch Enemy. I've not listened to their music for ages now, except of course for a few plays of their early stuff, which is still pretty good. I've not listened to anything from the last two albums. I might just do so tomorrow, just to keep up a little with a band I used to like.
Otherwise, I'm going to give Michael Amott's other project, Spiritual Beggars a listen. It has very positive reviews on Metal Archives, and since the guy is a very talented musician, I'd like to hear some more good stuff by him. Something he just cannot seem to offer me anymore with Arch Enemy. I'll have to listen to the most recent two albums of the melodeath band anyway, just to make sure...

If you ever do so, I recommend going for one of their first two LPs, which are Sweet Vengeance and Descent into Chaos. The next two aren't quite as good, and I can't talk about the last that came out because I haven't listened to it myself.
if you do I recommend the song no gods no masters

What do you guys think of Between the Buried and Me? As far as metal goes they're my favourite band. 5 of the most talented guys I've ever seen too. If you haven't already I'd recommend you give them a good listen.
I'm also into Baroness and Mastodon, though that about covers it for metal in my music library. I'd be open to some recommendations though if anybody has any.
