I don't think you want my opinion on them. Hardcore/metalcore/anything close to that is really not my cup of tea. I try to keep my mouth shut about said bands so no one gets butthurt, but it's really not my thing.
Well... You can't just put Hardcore and Metalcore together... The Ocean are far more of a Prog Sludge Metal band than Hardcore. And even Hardcore isn't anything like Deathcore or Metalcore.

I like some -core type stuff, but very little. a few songs by Flaw and Mudvayne and Killswitch Engage come to mind.
Anyway, this Ocean song sounds decent so far. I'm digging it.
Pretty cool :)
Listen to Merkur by Klabautamann, It's their best album, and that's saying a lot. The Olden Domain is fantastic, but this album is even better.
Isn't The Olden Domain a Borknagar album?

Also, Duff, I used to be a huge Ocean fan. I don't listen to them like I used to. I think they are good, I especially liked the transition of soft and heavy parts. I think the vocals range from very good to very bad. I could do without the inhales tbh, and some of the cleans are pretty bad. I've heard they can be pretty bad live, but I can't confirm that. Otherwise, I like them.
I only have the album Precambrian and I know that The Ocean changed their vocalist sometime ago. Which one of the vocalists do you dislike ?

So, I picked up Ulver's Nattens Madrigal on a whim today, and I listened to it and really dug it. I listened to it once in the past, and it didn't do much for me, but since I have gotten into black metal more since then, I really liked it. Are there any other Ulver albums I should pick up?
Nattens Madrigal is amazing. The production rapes ears, but it's an iconic album of the Black Metal genre. If you want to get their other Black Metal album, it's Bergtatt. It's more Folk/Black Metal oriented and the production isn't quite as dirty. This is definitely one of my favorites Black Metal records. I know for a fact that this record has highly influenced Agalloch, especially for the writting of the album Pale Folklore and the demo From Which Of This Oak.
It may not be a Metal record, but Kveldssanger is a pretty good Folk album. It's all accoustic, but it still retains the personnality of early Ulver's music.
If you want to get any of their modern and non-metal records, I recommand pretty much anything they released. But my personnal favorite of their modern releases is Perdition City. This album is absolutely fantastic. But like it was previously said, Ulver never released a bad album. Still, my top three as to be Nattens Madrigal, Bergtatt and Perdition City. Another one of their albums I don't see anybody talk about is Svidd Negger. It's also worth it. And if you get a chance to ear Themes from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, I recommand you do so. I love it when artists take influences from artists from other disciplines and include these influences in their art. I've read a review by someone who said Ulver really grasped the ambience of William Blake's book. It can be an amazing listen, especially for someone who read the book.

Good sexing metal:
Agalloch
Dream Theater
What do other hell-ers use for sexing music?
I agree on these two. Images And Words is one of my all time favorites when it comes to background music for sex. Anything that is progressive in fact. I remember listenning to The Odyssey and V : The New Mythology Suite by Symphony X while having sex with my girlfriend. I don't use much Metal for sex though. I remember listenning to a lot of If These Trees Could Talk and sometimes Godspeed You! Black Emperor but these two would most likely fall under the Post-Rock genre, even though GY!BE make extensive use of drones. I say Ulver's modern stuff is also quite good for the purpose.
I avoid the more agressive stuff or music with a strong emphasis on vocals. I always feel like somebody who shouldn't be there is taking a quite important role in my intercourse. I don't like it...

Now that's not a positive attitude, now is it? The key is finding out who you are, and then being that person to the best of your ability.
I second that.
