Depending on which album you are referring to that would not be inaccurate.

That was p. cool. One ,of my fav screamo bands is Heaven in Her Arms. Lots of post rock, ambient, black, and sludge influences in addition to vocals with a steady pitch. One of the best things to come from Japan.
At 9/13/11 12:45 PM, Centurion-Ryan wrote:What is this "djent" thing I'm hearing so much about?
Djent is an onomatopoeia for a guitar tone turned music genre. It is mostly identified by it's mids oriented guitar tone, but can also be defined by polyrhythms built over a 4/4 time signature. Messhugga are considered to be the forefathers of Djent and it's ideals. Some Djent bands areStealing Axion, Nemertines, 24192, newer Periphery, and Tesseract. It seems to be generally disliked amongst metal communities for it's relation to -core, it's rarity of "melodic" riffs, and that it's somewhat trendy status. Although I think it's a bit overrated, there's been some really good bands coming out of it lately.
Nothing like drinking all night and yeah. Lets talk about... METAL?!? yeah yeah. Jagermeister..... what a butt plug.
We're meat and that's it. So lets fuck it, fuck it, fuck it.

Man I was thinking last night, how bad ass would it be to have gauntlets made out of alligator leather? It would be expensive as hell, but damn it would be the shit!
I turned 22 on August 31st. I went to McGillicuddy's in Newpaltz and got a free fishbowl. It's literally a fishbowl full of booze. awesome. And my friend got me a new bowl and a new bong, and the owner of the store gave me a free one hitter. And I had a lobster tail and a steak wrapped with bacon for dinner.
Also, I forgot to mention the awesome shirt I got a while ago.
I'm really liking this Fortresse track you linked, Duff.
And I got yet another album
Wiht - the Harrowing of the North

Yeah, Peccatum is great. Check out the Moribund People. The title track is catchy and addictive. And have you heard the Adversary by Ihsahn? It's great, just like the other 2 albums.

I would instantly and permanently brand you king poof.
Oh yeah. It was Slaughter of the Soul's fault. And the Arch Enemy guy is the cunt that made Carcass go soft, I do blame him.
NICE FUCKING STRANGE COUSINS FROM THE WEST SHIRT XD

No, I didn't. I listenned to both of his previous albums, but I still need to listen to this one. Right now I'm listenning to a lot of Black Metal and BM influenced projects. I listen to Forteresse, Kvelertak, Ihsahn and Peccatum a lot.
I see the Moribund People is a Peccatum EP. And it has a good average score on Metal Archives. If you recommand it, it means I have to listen to it :)

I'm already aware of the changes for the new Opeth album. My sister has enjoyed it so that's enough for me to ensure that it will be her birthday present next week.

I think you'll find that Newgrounds' favourite hipster loves both so it's all good.
Setlists, if you're too much of an ass to read the blog...
I do like the look of the setlists except for maybe Slayer since I'm not a big fan of them. I'm hoping the big four will do a mini-tour in the UK and not just make a single appearance at a festival.
If there are any fans of The Project Hate MCMXCIX on here who haven't heard yet, TPH is without funding and are going to be relying on donations to continue recording their 9th album. If you've ever enjoyed a single song of theirs, you know that it will be worth every penny to donate to this amazing band. Let's help them get back on their feet!
Currently listening to Wyrd-Heathen probably the longest song I've ever listened to.

They're keeping the Sleep thing going. But really Sleep influenced everyone.

Because they're good as fuck.

Sleep's Holy Mountain is pretty cool.

Of course, especially The Sweetest Curse.

More people should check out Sleep's Volume 1, which is heavier than Holy Mountain in nearly every sense of the word.
Just sayin'.
Everything Sleep has done, Jerusalem/Dopesmoker aside, is a masterpiece.
Dopesmoker is a fucking joke.
So anyone, today was the first day in maybe a half year i've gotten up at 8 AM. (I ALWAYS get up sometime between 5 AM and 6 AM)
Not only that but i'm running a temp of 100 and my nose WON'T STOP FUCKING RUNNING.
Oh well, I have to work today anyway. And then tonight there's an Evergrey / Powerglove / The Absence show not far from me, which I already have a ticket to.
SO I'LL PRETEND I'M PERFECTLY FINE, ALL FOR METAL.

Now this is something I strongly agree you with. Personally, I felt it was never necessary to make that song 60 minutes long. I'm sure it could have been a 15 minute song without any trouble. Not to question those who do enjoy this particular song by Sleep but if I'm going to listen to a song that takes up an hour, I want a whole lot more to happen. A nice example of a song that moves a lot is Mike Oldfield's Amarok.
Not only that but i'm running a temp of 100 and my nose WON'T STOP FUCKING RUNNING.
I hate runny noises.

It's one of the best songs ever when stoned. Otherwise it's kinda shit and is little more than background music too loud to be background music.

Even though I've never toked up, I would imagine just about any music sounds good when high.
Also been spending a lot of time on Ulitmate Guitar forums. Those people are spitting off bands like nobody's business. Forums are al ot more active too.
Also diggin around on metal archives diggin through giant lists of every band ever.
At 9/17/11 06:48 PM, batman64 wrote: 20 years ago for 20 bucks.
Shit, I'd pay $20 (worth more back then, I know) to see one of those bands. Bolt Thrower, Sacred Reich, Brutal Truth, and Massacre caught my especially. I don't know a few of them, so I'm gonna go give em' a listen. I'm assuming you went, right?
I really wanted to go to Zappa fest today, but apparently community service hours I can get on a monthly basis are more important than an annual event for one of my fav. musicians.
Checked out the bands I didn't know about, pretty cool shit. Believer is thrash with violin and keys, and it works pretty well. The only problem is that the DRI like vocals don't fit well. Demented Ted is also pretty good, and Order from Chaos has a pretty weird guitar tone for metal. Overall, good stuff. Makes me wish I was born a bit earlier, just to see all these good bands in their prime.
Sucks how Baltimore went from having a booming metal community in the 90's to having little more than a few Saint Vitus rip off bands.
The whole point of Sleep's dopesmoker was that the song would be almost the same the whole time, there's more trance that way, besides I salute any band that would want to do anything outside the box of the regular album format. Music is art, not product, and dopesmoker reflects that.
