The culture here is pretty uninteresting as well.
Damn... you're so ungrateful...

Regardless, some pretty dope music comes out of Finland.
Also, I met a Finnish guy at my last high school, he was pretty awesome. He liked Sotajumala and taught me how to pronounce their songs, and also what they meant.

did you guys know that finland is the most genetically homogenous country in the world? also finnish is a weird language because unlike pretty much every other european language, it's not an indo-european language.

And they pronounce all "j's" as "y's." Which is fun if you don't know about it and you're trying to read Finnish.

that's the case for a ton of languages. german, dutch, danish, swedish, norwegian, icelandic, faroese, latin, afrikaans, the list goes on

There's no need to be fucking hostile around here. :)

Apologies for the Pantera reference everyone.
Nah, but really this should be cool. And also, that one Brocas Helm track I have is Cry of the Banshee (which I can play on meh bass yeea)

A fine choice of a song. They've made a lot of great songs but Cry of the Banshee is a good start. It is my favourite song of theirs and I really like how you admire the bass in it. It makes one sweet intro.

I actually find the idea of them playing on top of a mountain hilarious. It's no Call of the Wintermoon but it's silly enough.

I've seen several people posting lists of bands they listen to, and the posted lists get reviewed by other members. In order to join Metal Hell, do I need to do the same?

Yeah, just post your 10 favourite metal bands and one of the horsemen (most likely Sense or Idio since they're the only active/semi-active ones around here) will decide whether you can join or not.

In Irish, we don't have Ys or Js. We have "Dh" or "Gh" for a Y sound, and our "Ti" sound is the closest thing we have to a J.

FUCKING GAEILGE. HOW DOES IT WORK?

So in unrelated news,I picked up Pink Bubbles Go Ape the other day and it's really not as bad as everyone says it is. Kids of the Century and Back on the Streets are really good songs, and The Chance and Someone's Crying wouldn't have been out of place on one of the Keeper records.

So, if I got a Last.FM, would there be any way I could scrobble from my Zune? Otherwise, I'm not doing it.

Well, you're normally supposed to post your ten favorite metal bands, but whatever. I see at least ten there, so you're good. And I see you like Jon Lajoie. lol.

I don't think you can. I'm pretty sure only iPhone and Android devices can, as well as some high end audio company's collaborative efforts with Last that nobody who isn't swimming in money would give two shits about.

You can get their scrobbler app which should work with the Zune media player on your computer, so if that's what you're looking for, then disregard my previous comment.

I actually agree with this. Pink Bubbles is a decent album, although it does contain some of the most forgettable songs in the Helloween library. But yeah, this is coming from someone who also enjoyed Chameleon and even some of Metal Jukebox.

Unarmed can die in a fire.

Speaking of Helloween, they recently revealed their latest album and to be honest, I think it looks out of place to all the other Helloween album covers. Picture below incase you overlooked the news article about it.

I once heard about a scrobble plugin for Zune and such. However, I'm not sure when that plugin was last updated. Last year when I was needing a new MP3 Player, the most reliable one out of the lot in terms of the MP3 Player itself and scrobbling to Last.fm was an iPod. I've been happy with the iPod ever since.

BTW, did I ever get your Last.fm username? I don't recall adding you as a friend on there.

I never joined cuz whenever I'm listening to music, it's usually on my Zune. Sometimes I use WMP or the Zune player, but not much.

I never listened to Metal Jukebox, but I really didn't like Chameleon. I think it's one of the few critically-panned Metal albums that deserves its reputation. First Time is pretty good, but the rest of the album is awful. There's nothing dynamic or interesting about it at all.

Unarmed can die in a fire.

Here's the thing. I didn't really mind Unarmed. The Keeper's Trilogy was epic, and Dr. Stein and Perfect Gentleman worked well in the silly acoustic style because they weren't serious songs. Forever and One was okay, and they just straight-up butchered everything else. And what the fuck Perfect Gentleman and Where the Rain Grows are doing on a "greatest hits" album I will never know.

Picture below incase you overlooked the news article about it.

You think they like knives, or something?

I'm digging the influx of new members.
Has anyone here been to a Psycroptic show? Cause I just got their Initiation album, and it's pretty dope, but the vocals are super lame.
I guess I can't hold it against them, their vocalist does have a ridiculous range of variation, but even so, he runs out of breath at least once a bar.

Please tell me they're usually better than that.

Response to Metal Hell 2010-09-07 21:42:15

He's actually one of the four horsemen around here. The others are batman64, Idiosyncratic and... We never settled the fourth person since the previous horsemen ElGhoulio disappeared and never came back. We do have a major leader, though who is Goatchrist. He stops by every now and again.

Fair enough, I still liked the risk they took with this one, although it wasn't the best of timing.

The Keeper's Trilogy was epic

To me, that was the only good thing about Unarmed. I wouldn't mind buying that song individually.

You think they like knives, or something?

Perhaps. I think the overly metal looking of the album cover is to try and compensate for Unarmed as much as they can. They might be overdoing it, though.

There also is Hell Commander Smeagol who will take over Canada with his black metal millita and proclaim Canada as the new Grim and Frostbitten place to live. Thus plunging the Northern Hemisphere into 1000 years of darkness and metal. <3
