Yeah...then if I add all my parents' non-metal crap all my CDs shoot up into the 400+ area :P

But that's pretty cool. Old vinyl is always good to have around. I'm looking at getting a turntable for myself and a couple of old records just for the sake of nostalgia and all...

I download most of my music too, but if I like a band, I'll usually buy their albums, collecting/sentimental value and all...

Ponos, check out this awesome Greek Stoner Metal band called Planet of Zeus. From the vocals and the riffs I honestly thought they were American, but they're not.

Not nearly enough. The only vinyls that I have are like house stuff from when I was really into spinning...
And like some others, I download most of my stuff, but I'll buy an album or two every now and then if I have the money. I don't have my collection in front of me ATM (Because I'm in France- I plan to try to pick up some Benighted and a few other Frenchie albums while I'm here), but the last few albums I bought were Dragonlord's Rapture, Whitechapel's This is Exile (which I am decidedly sick of), and Psycroptic's (Ob)Servant.

Three or four LPs and about 150-200 CDs. All of which are thankfully in storage because they were taking up a shit ton of room and I already had them ripped to my computer.

438 CDs. As for how many of them are metal, I'd have to exclude all the non-metal artists. I'm guessing I have around 100 non-metal CDs. Too bad I'm still a long way away from 500 metal CDs. :P

This is also a good idea. I don't know how I would sell them though. Maybe I'll stand in an alley way while wearing a large trench-coat filled with iTunes cards to sell to shady people. Or maybe I'll see if any of my friends want one.

Shit, they be tight.

iTunes gift cards are sick. You buy those little games for two bucks each, they're genius. I bought the remake of Final Fantasy originally for the game boy advance for 9 dollars too.

Golden Sun and The Lost Age had dope soundtracks... For being GBA games. They even used double bass... Sounds...

I guess you couldn't REALLY call it double bass since the whole thing was 32 bit or whatever.

I always thought that. They easily go hand in hand. I mean, I listened to ALL my power metal albums while playing Oblivion. Speaking of power metal, Helloween are going to be touring with Stratovarius in Europe. They have two shows in the UK and I shall see them on the 5th December. I may be starting a job in September but I've got to take yet another day off for this show.

Thanks to Bahamut for pointing this out a few days ago, but I've now seen Maiden's video teaser for The Final Frontier and I have to say that I'm impressed.

The video is loaded with Sci-Fi cliches and even an Indiana Jones joke, but it's the sort of thing that makes me want the release to come around sooner!

Ah yes, this was out on Tuesday. It's alright video to go along with the song. Definitely much better than the half assed CGI video they made for Different World. As for the song itself, the cuts don't sound very noticeable unlike others so I look forward to the whole thing.

I love in the beginning when the astronaut says, "Eddie, what took you so long?" It just kind of made me laugh. I'm not sure if they are referring to the length between their albums, but it made me chuckle.

Both of the new songs that Maiden have released are terrible.

Response to Metal Hell 2010-07-15 17:00:13

So Neuraxis has been blowing my mind lately. Anyone who doesn't know them should definitely drop a few dollars (or whatever your local currency is) on an album or three of theirs. Especially "Trilateral Progression." Even though it's their newest and the mastering is a bit more pervasive, it still is pretty brutal... And melodic at the same time. Think Origin mixed with like Daath and Obscura. Dope shizz.

Night all.

Care to offer any justification for this? I mean if you'd just left that as a review on the Audio Portal, you'd be looking at a ban, no question.

I'm not particularly bothered if you don't like the music, I just want to know what it is that you don't like about it.

You can easily see it as a nod to how long they took to release this album. 4 years of waiting is longer than usual for a Maiden album.

I'm well aware that he doesn't really like newer Maiden but I know he's at least tried to listen to them. He's stated his opinions on the other song and I'm sure the thoughts on this song aren't much different so I'm going to leave it at that.

They're just boring. El Dorado feels like it jars in the same place for the whole length of the song, and the chorus is annoying. Final Frontier is too repetitive, he says "THE FINAL FRONTIER" like 500 times.

Nothing will EVER be as repetitive as The Angel and the Gambler's lyrics. I'll easily take what I've heard in The Final Frontier so far over The Angel and the Gambler any day of the week.

I don't know - for someone with the vocal talent of Bruce Dickinson, you can't really get worse than the chorus for The Assassin. What a pile of wank.

If you guys are looking for a purely instrumental metal album, check out John Petrucci's Suspended Animation. All the musicians are great and of course Mr. Petrucci shreds like crazy on all the tracks.

Ah, that's the thing. The Angel and the Gambler is from Virtual XI, one of Blaze Bayley's albums. You can go right ahead and say The Assassin has the worst chorus but I don't think anything could be worse than hearing the chrous repeat OVER TWENTY FUCKING TIMES!
