What other bad news in metal has come out this year?
Also to be perfectly honest i've never listened to Type O Negative OR Carnivore, what are some good albums by each to check out?
I might as well pay my respects by checking them out...

Can't say...
The one band who recorded the album To Lay Like Old Ashes.
So you tell me... American or Australian?

Australian. I've got their split with Isolation.

Gotta say I fuckin' like their stuff.
Probably gonna buy To Lay Like Old Ashes.

How come we're still alive? In these kingdoms of filth, when heaven's so abstract and hell is so real...
Here I am, bored with everything.

what's your favorite album of theirs?

It got to me too. They've been a favorite of mine for years. Aside from the cheesy romantic stuff, I've always loved Peters lyrics. There's a simplicity and bluntness to them that I've always liked. Better to be straight to the point than to be pretentious and purple. I didn't know him but the world still feels a hell of a lot more empty without him.

Hahahahaha. I don't even know what to say, other than you are so wrong.
But seriously, Behemoth are corporate whores and on the verge of being mainstream because they get their dicks wet with money. Hell, they're even popular with scene kids. But, I digress, my real problem with Behemoth is their lack of originality or musical integrity.

That doesn't even make sense.

God forbid a band gets popular and makes money.
Hell, they're even popular with scene kids.
So is Iron Maiden. What's your point?
But, I digress, my real problem with Behemoth is their lack of originality or musical integrity.
How are they unoriginal?
This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

Haha, the Anthrax song is far beyond the Behemoth one aswell. Bleh, Behemoth would really only appeal to mainstream metal fans, unaware of the greater things hidden away, artifacts of the metal art form. Behemoth contribute nothing. Fuck, that song even reminded me of a Belphegor song. Who are far better than Behemoth.
Fuck them, fuck them up their stupid asses.
Wassup fools. FYI, crowd surfing to Clutch playing 50,000 Unstoppable Watts was pretty fucking mad Idio. =D

All bands steal from other bands without knowing it. I don't see why they would consciously take a riff from a famous metal band and use it in their song.
It's just proof they aren't real about their music, because they lack effort and the creativity to make REAL music.

Well, they ARE Polish...
I want to hear thoughts from those who have listened to post-No Exit Fates Warning. I expected them to be as good as No Exit and Awaken the Guardian but from what I've heard, they're vastly inferior. I've listened to Parallels, Inside Out and Disconnect but I feel the changes they made from the earlier albums weren't for the better.

I haven't listened to much of Behemoth and only have a neutral opinion for the time being but shit, I almost thought that Behemoth song was an Anthrax cover.
On the subject of Behemoth, I hear Nergal is in court for destroying a bible at one show a few years...

well I think they make amazing music, I don't care if a band is mainstream if they make good music, and last I checked they are still metal, so they are eligible for discussion here by their fans

Even if I dislike Behemoth I still have to say this. Sometimes people see these kind of things as rip offs. But why couldn't be a kind of homage to Anthrax that Behemoth would have made for them?
I know it's not like making a cover of a band you like. Making a cover is the most obvious way too show love :P to the band you are covering. But when you just take a riff, it always looks like they are ripping off from the other band...
lulz also at all of you guys who like King Diamond :P
But as I really hate Behemoth and their uninspired shit... I'll still have to go with the rip off theory :P

So you have the right to kill animals just for fun but you can destroy a book you dislike?...
It's all bullshit that some of you people think that Behemoth are unoriginal because they stole a riff from Anthrax. Bands use the same riffs as others without even knowing it, just think how many of them are taken.
Besides, Behemoth is fucking awesome. People here will probably stop liking them once they get popular. I couldn't give a shit less. And if they were corporate, they would be sellout and radio-friendly, correct?

lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Once they get popular? Are you fucking seriously stating that they are not one of the most fucking commercial and popular bands of the entire fucking Metal scene ???
And stop using the "People here will probably stop liking them once they get popular" argument... it's still one of the biggest fucking fail ever. Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Black Sabbath and Anthrax, just to name a few, are some of the most appreciated bands in the Metal Hell, yet they are amongs the most popular artists of the metal scene.
I think Behemoth makes generic death metal and that their attempt at trying to include some black metal elements to their music is not saying them from being just plain boring and generic. If you want to have a proof of how generic they are, just listen to the vocals.. there is at least a billion death metal bands with identical vox...
The guitar riffs are just plain boring...
They have some interresting material... but I say 2 good tracks per album is not enough to be a good band...
I think there is just a lack of personnality and deepness in their music. I just don't feel anything while listenning to their stuff. There is always this feeling of wannabe heavyness and that "Fuck the christian chuch" feel in their music. But... I don't know if they are just trying too hard... or not hard enough... but something is missing in their music...

It's just funny. "Either they're trying too hard, or not hard enough."
all I heard was dick dick dick behemoth sucks because there Polish. Fuck you Im Polish rofl chopper do a barrel roll I just noticed I have the whole nile collection. So take a dump on my chest because I might be seeing 1349 in Chicago.
I was wondering... when we talk about Stoner Metal or Depressive Black Metal or whatever.
These genres... Stoner... Depressive... Viking and all the likes... are only classified this way because of the lyrical themes right?
I mean, there is no specific song structures, riff progression or anything particular in the music itself that would make the music fall under these genre classifications. So these genres are to describe the lyrical themes and not the music?
If it's the case... I think it's kind of weird...
I can't see people starting to call some Power Metal bands Dragon Power Metal only because they talk about dragons in their music...
That really just doesn't make sense to me. Some help would be nice :P
