I just bought Wearing A Martyr's Crown by Nightrage. An album that is returning to the roots of Melodic Death Metal. This album includes some of the greatest death metal riffs I've ever heard. Still, they bring the little touch that makes them an interresting Melodic Death Metal band.
Honestly, since I've re-joinned the Metal Hell I have been a little more into straight down Death Metal and Tech Death. But also into Doom and Black a little more. But whatever. Recently I've listenned to a little more of my most ancient albums and all the stuff I used to listen to in High School. But I found out that I still like Melodeath. And this new album I just bought is fucking great and is bringing me back to what got me first into metal music.
I also found out watching Amon Amarth and Dark Tranquillity live performances on the internet and I have understood a few little things about what makes Melodeath so nice. Most important thing is that it makes great live music. Solos and catchy riffs makes it a music that will get people together. These parts in the songs are well-known by everyone in the audience and I've heard people singing the guitar riffs like when Dark Tranquillity plays The Treason Wall.
I think the fact that these parts are important (along with the chorus) will just make the show reach a higher level.
Also, great album cover :)
