Drone is Metal.
But like with Prog, Thrash and Doom you don't need to say Metal in order for people to know what you're talking about. Whereas Power, for example, sounds retarded with the Metal suffix.
Or maybe that was when you were talking about Slude?
Sludge is perhaps less Metal as its a mixture of Doom Metal and Hardcore Punk. Its like taking the misery of Doom and making it into misantrophy :). Sorta like slower, heavier, more misery and weed-laden Thrash.
And in some cases like Dystopia its apparently more Crust Punk than it is Metal, but I don't really care for that, it sounds Metal enough for me.
Drone is noise influenced minimalist Doom. It's too slow for riffs so its all about the ambience and soundscapes.
Stoner Metal is stuff like Kyuss and Fu Manchu, isn't it? Stoner Doom is just Doom with extra psychedelia.
Man! Better write this somewhere, cause these three genres are the "part" of the metal universe that I really know the less... just to avoid saying not at all :P.
Thanks for the infos :)

Folk Metal.... They have a folk influence. And the EP 'The White' is folk. Very nice folk. But I would have to say that Agalloch is a combination of post-rock and black metal.
Meh, I don't care about Agalloch.
They can be what they like :P.
What about... Awesome Metal?
I had this image going through my head when I watched a tv show in french here in Quebec. They were interviewing Loreena McKennit. And... all of a sudden I imagined her walking in a field and one of the guys of Agalloch was standing in the forest like a deer, staring at her.
I just like music like this... music that makes you think about nature...
Awesome :)

Should I check out Cannibal Corpse? I have several friends telling me to look into them, and I want your guys' opinion on them. If I should check them out, where should I start?
Their best musician obviously is Alex Webster, the bassist. So I would recommand you check out the band Blotted Science, as he is a member of both of these bands.
But Cannibal Corpse... what can I say. they are good, somehow, they make interresting music. I would recommand the album Tomb Of The Mutilated, but other than that, I can't say I really like their stuff. Except for that one track on the album Kill... Time To Kill Is Now. And here is an awesome montage a guy did with the track and a scene from the movie 300. As you listen to it and watch the video, you'll eventually realise that the lyrics fits the scene perfectly :)
Other than this, I don't really like CC, but their vocalist is pretty good, and their bassist is fuckin' great :)

Guys, I want to get all your opinions of Cradle of Filth.
Honestly I don't really listen to them that much, but my friend is always showing me them. Some of their songs are pretty good and some of them are kind of shitty IMO. Do you guys consider them to be a REAL black metal band?
Im not a fan of them but i dont know a lot about them either, from what i believe the general thought is that they are not a real black metal band
That :)
CoF are in fact, not considered as "true metal" at all :P
They are commercial posing goth fags... IMO :)
