You already said you didn't really know how to do the vocals and were told some tips, so practice those tips, get better at vocals, do more covers, write your own stuff, whatever you want.

The UK started traditional metal. That was it.

All other genres of metal started in the US, Norway, Sweden, Finland and germany. And I don't really consider NWOBHM an official genre.

Also anyone who says the US ruined metal obviously isn't a fan of much thrash, death or prog. metal as the US is basically where these three genres started.

Gothic Metal was invented here with My Dying Bride, Anathema, Paradise Lost.
