Understand that when you compared emocore to melodeath, it was obvious to me that you were comparing in someway the clean parts with overdrive or clean guitar lead melodies and also the use of clean vocals during the chorus (BECAUSE BOTH OF THESE GENRES DO IT). So basically what I said is that most emocore bands do it to sound more catchy, which is not the point in melodeath.

So emocore has clean vox for catchiness, melodeath has clean vox for 'musical bettering'? That doesn't sit with me, they are both using clean vox for 'musical bettering' in their opinions, but I dislike what they're trying to do.

All musical artists are doing this. Therefore that's not what I am talking about. What I meant is that I hate musical paterns. See... how "so called artists" like Avril Lavigne write different songs but they still all sound the same because it's basically just the same recipe used and used over again.

I think they kick ass. I saw them live and they really did set the place on fire. They have a very good drummer and the vocalist has a large range in his vocals. I have to admit that in a lot of their songs the guitar and bass is quite simple. But their really isn't as much chugging as you said in what they write.

You should, it's epic, although PT has a shitload of great bass lines and guitar riffs, and their vocal harmonies are amazing.
