There's a new Manowar EP 'Thunder in the Sky'.
It's pretty good.
The Metal version of 'The Crown and The Ring' is fantastic and the last track 'God or Man' I thought was excellent too.

Yep. I was only corrected like last year too.

I assume the guy who designed the layout designed it for Firefox.
It's just a tip to people who view the website if they have problems with layout.

Maybe they just like it better, and they're saying fuck you to anyone who disagrees. Cuz they can.
For the longest while i opposed Metal and thought those godforsaken sounds were of the devil. But I went to a local Metal concert this friday with a friend, and have to admit, thrash metal is pretty amazing!!

Do you know what band you saw?
Yeah, my school friend's band Great Awakening, then Katharik, Empyrean, and Xit Lit.
Hm it wasn't so much the band's that were playing, but the individual soloing out, guitar and drums.
I feel i appreciate screamers more when they're live.

I prefer growls over screams. But if they're done right, you should appreciate them on a recording as well.

Whoa, a metal version of The Crown and The Ring? This I have to hear what it's like as I'm really curious now.

Oh really? I've noticed it since the first time I visited MA.

Nice, as for me, I got Dream Theater's Black Clouds & Silver Linings today, which was one of the albums I was looking forward to the most this year. I'm hoping this is just because I need to get used to the album, but the main disc is a disappointment. Not listened to all the covers yet, but I'm onto it now.
Anybody ever heard of Ascension.
Not a fan of the singer, but otherwise, it's perfectly enjoyable cheesy Power Metal.
Short summary of last night's show:
Sothis: pretty decent. They had an attractive female keyboardist. However, they started 34 minutes late and their set lasted from 7:34 PM to 8:09 PM.
Rumpelstiltskin Grinder: disappointing. Only one song really stood out to me. Their set lasted from 8:28 PM to 9:10 PM.
Absu: pretty god damn good. They played just about everything I thought they would. However, I half-expected Proscriptor to throw a drum stick at the crowd and that didn't happen. Entire set length was 9:27 PM to 10:38 PM.
And here's a rather shitty quality video I took for anyone who gives a shit.
Former iron fist mod of the NG Featureless Chat from May 23, 2012 to May 4, 2014.
So I own two exodus albums: Bonded by Blood and Fabulous Disaster.
Are there any other Exodus albums you guys think are worth getting?
Also Sonata Arctica released new info about there upcoming late October album. It's name will be "Trust and Betrayal" and it'll be basically Unia only not as complicated and with a much darker atmosphere.
Went to Amoeba yesterday, and I got:
Death - Symbolic
ISIS - Oceanic
Lightning Swords of Death - Golden Plague
So far, I've only listened to Lightning Swords. So far, pretty good black/thrash.
In the way of non-metal:
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Black Moth Super Rainbow - Eating Us
Dan Deacon - Bromst

Same. I've not listened to it yet though. Went to bed at 6pm as I was up all night.
Portnoy has apparently described it as 'A Change of Seasons', 'Octavarium', 'Learning to Live', 'Pull Me Under' and 'The Glass Prison' all on one album.
So in other words, the guy has probably gone mental.

Bonded by Blood is a masterpiece.

Get Panopticon if you don't already have it.
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
I don't have the album, but Trains is awesome and catchy.
So my two Agalloch's albums have been shipped to the CD store :)
I'm going to get them soon!
And Blood Red Throne is fucking great!

I think he overexaggerated. By saying there's A Change of Seasons AND Octavarium in one album, I was thinking of TWO 20+ minute tracks, but it turns out not a single track exceeded that length. I guess if they did that, the album itself would be in 2 CDs and there's already enough discs for the album already.
After a few more listens to the album, I'm starting to enjoy Black Clouds & Silver Linings more.

If you guys like Steve DiGiorgio (whatever the spelling is) then check out his thrash band Sadus. He was in it and get Illusions by them. It's fucking amazing technical thrash and Steve's lines will blow you away.
Here I am, bored with everything.
If you guys like Classic Heavy Metal music, I recommend Primal Fear's new album 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows Your Dead)...
Eh, you might like this Power Metal band... Up to your tastes...
