sorry for double-post

When I wrote that comment about Megadeth, I was stating my opinion with irony.
I said Megadave cause I consider that Megadeth isn't a band anymore, it's one dude... who hires some musicians for a while... and when he don't want to play with these guys anymore he kick them out and get new musicians.

I mean, how can a band have a good spirit, a good energy if the line-up is changing all the time?

And I think that I'm not the one to blame. If Ponos was just making that kind of joke to anyone, it would be ok, but it's always aimed at me, and I just think that if there is someone to blame, it's Ponos.

what you don't understand is that he's doing it solely for your reaction. if you just turned the other cheek, he'd get bored, and you would be the victor. by responding to his baiting, you're giving him the satisfaction he wants.

and he likes more than stoner doom. and don't diss stoner, 'cause stoner is fantastic. you said earlier that you wanted heavy; look no further than stoner.

thanks ponos.

so now it's not just about opinions anymore? :P

I like atmospheric music... but slow riffs just to sound heavy really isn't my type.

But maybe if you could list a few bands... I already said I would check out Sun O)))

It's not just to sound heavy. There's a groove in stoner metal unlike that of any other genre (except doom, duh.) OM, for example, are hypnotic.

But maybe if you could list a few bands... I already said I would check out Sun O)))

Sunn O))) aren't stoner metal.

But bands to check out:
Sleep (especially holy mountain)
Electric Wizard
OM
Weedeater
Boris (be warned, some of their stuff is drone and some is noise; do research before buying)
High on Fire
The Sword

Yes, Om are fucking fantastic. Probably my favourite band now :D:D:D

And speaking of Sleep, I'm getting into Dopesmoker. It's awesome, It's hate is unjustified.

See, you're being naive. You're just guessing a really stupid reason why there has been more than 5 members in the past 20 years (oooooooh!). You wouldn't know shit all about it.

I was at a friend's house, and we listened to Jerusalem. It's pretty good. People just hate Dopesmoker 'cause they want something accessible and poppy and 2 to 3 minutes long hahaha.

More like 15 members... he just kicked them all out, one after the other.

He played with 18 different musicians with Megadeth... and that's if we don't mention the guys from Metallica,

Dave Mustaine is a very selfish man and he doesn't care about anyone else than is own objective and will push out of the way anyone he doesn't feel to be worthy enough...

Well, read Ghoul's review of it on MA. He doesn't understand it at all.

I got two CDs yesterday:

Alestorm - Leviathan. An EP, which isn't bad. The tracks are good overall, although I still prefer the Battleheart version of Heavy Metal Pirates.

Stratovarius - Polaris. The first album with Tolkki and they didn't do too bad. It's not a great album, but I'd say this is their best since Infinite (not a great album either, but that had Hunting High and Low and Phoenix) and I'm glad it's a step up from the self-titled and Elements albums (most especially part 2, all the tracks were unmemorable).

So what? It's his band, he can do what he likes. Dave has always been the driving force of Megadeth. Dave is Megadeth, it's essentially his solo project now and there is nothing wrong with that.

No one gives Chuck Schuldiner any shit but Death never had the same line up twice.

You do have a point there. But there are still a few musicians who really did influence the path Megadeth took. I really think Nick Menza and Marty Friedman did have an influence on the music recorded by Megadeth. Chris Poland also really did influence their music. Don't just take my words for it, a lot of people consider that the best records of Megadeth are Rust In Peace, Countdown To Extinction and Youthanasia. Another record that was quite popular is Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?. Recorded with Chris Poland. Mustaine really is the leader of the band, and it's his band. But these two records are soooo different from each other, and still they both fucking kick ass... Imo... the other guys did influence the results.

And Mustaine really is a fucking selfish asshole.

Indeed. Ideally I'd have all the Rust in Peace lineup back because I love that album and I while I don't expect they'd ever come near that standard again, I could see them live with that line up. It would be bliss :D.

And Mustaine really is a fucking selfish asshole.

I like the guy, so I can't say anything about this. If the guy is a bit of dick then good for him, arrogance can get you far.

Just look at Kirk Hammett, if he had any balls he'd have left Metallica years ago.

Apparently Varg was released today too.

You do know that Mustaine would have never left Metallica, right?

Hahaha, that's a good call :P
But I don't think that Mustaine would have accepted anytime in his life to share the fame and glory. He and Hedfield were always fighting to be the one in the middle of the stage, to be the one everyone would be looking at. I don't think any of these two guys could stay in a band with another guitarist that would be very charismatic and have a strong personnality. They just can't stand to share the stage with guys like these.

So who are their guitarists now? Metallica has Kirk Hammett... the guy with no balls...
and Megadeth got a Canadian dude that won't even take the fucking mic to say something to the public during a show in Montreal... I mean... this is people from your country and you won't even say a fucking word to the public... that's lame...
Oh no... sorry... this guy is not in the band anymore... he's been replaced by a new guitarist...

Dave wants Metallica's fame and success. If he was in the band he'd either of left or Metallica wouldn't of turned out as lame as they have.
