someone exactly like you said.. "claims" to listen to metal, but they obviously don't

None of those are really metal, except Ozzy.

Last time I checked Rammstein was industrial metal and Slipknot and Rob Zombie were nu-metal. Not exactly a purists favourite genres but metal none the less.

Not enough for joining, dude. List some more of your favourite bands, please.

Honestly, I do enjoy A FEW of their tunes, but that was mostly because of the sick lyrics(Herzeleid and Sehnsucht albums) and then they turned much worse. "Reise, Reise"(the new album) is so bad it makes my ears bleed.

Take Slipknot for example, they're clearly a metal band, albeit not a good one, and they fall under the nu-metal genre.
Just because you don't like it doesn't make it not metal.

dude, please don't tell me that you base yourself on "if it's heavy, it's metal", cuz that is the worst lie I've heard in music

They are far from metal.
They can be labeled either as Aggresive Rock or Mallcore.

Rammstein are Industrial... but not metal.
If you wanna hear some good Industrial Metal though... you might want to give Raunchy or Mnemic a listen. Neither of them are on the archives, so don't even bother looking there, they really need a page there.
Sorry for the Triple post, but do you guys know wtf is going on with the Metal Archives?
The search engine is no longer working properly, or atleast it isnt right now.

They had a lot of down-times lately, I don't know why :/

Do all Mnemic songs have that annoying emoish clean singing in it? I saw a clip for a song and it started off fine with an aggressive riff and blast beats....then it started to suck and he did these clean vocal chorus that wouldnt have been out of place in a linkin park song. :s

Like Soilwork's vocalists, the lead heavy and distorted, and the other softer and more, as you out it "emo-ish". It is no different with Mnemic. But the softer vocals pop in and out only for a few moments in the songs, most of the time.

Oh and Killswitch Engage also has a similar vocal style.
The 3 bands that I cna think of at this moment are Mnemic, Soilwork, and Killswitch Engage. They all have the same basic idea, and style with their lyrics.
If you want a really blackened industrial metal album, try Arcturus's La Masquerade Infernale. It has quite a few parts that can only be described as blackened industrial metal. It has quite a few symphonic elements, but most of it is a scary ride through uncharted territory. If you listen to it when you smoke w33d, you will be transported to another world entirely. LONG LIVE ARCTURUS
oh, and if you were wondering who I was, let's just say I'm doing a split with Goatchrist, and The_Ghoul got banned...

Alright ;)
I can rarely stand Mnemic 's clean singer. Most of their songs are pretty boring. The only thing i liked is their cover of "Wild Boys".
Speed's clean vocals in "A Predator's Portrait" are pretty damn good. It's also their best album. The new stuff is alright, but too formulaic and often leads to nowhere.

They only have one singer dude, he does the clean and heavy lyrics.
Well, I recently started recording moer stuff, but I'm still taking my time. I'll probably end up recording around 7 or 8 songs for my next album, but I'll only use four or five of the songs. The song I finished today is called "Grimness as Light Ebbs" and is 23:20 and very Burzum-esque, but a bit faster as it utilizes blastbeats, and sorta bridges the gap between two of the greatest black metal albums (in my opinion), Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Keyboards will be sparse but there, and it will be very mellow and dramatic at the same time, and will give you time to ponder the songs.

Just on the title track, and he only does background vocals.
Impious, that sounds nice, can we get a sample soon?

I'll probably submit it to newgrounds, only if I can get it small enough file size without compromising the quality too much. Oh, and I have the picture, but my brother has my digital camera, so it'll be in your e-mailbox tonight. I will be recording quite a few more songs, so I just might submit the shorter ones so that I don't have to compromise quality so much. Also, I'll host all the songs for our split tonight, and I'll email you the link. Can you do the same?

yeah, it's not too bad, but I doubt that they will ever reach the level of "A Predator's Portrait" again.
hey Ghoul, I'm still waiting for your e-mail...(artwork, etc.)

Yeah same here, in my opinion it is much better than Figure Number 5, but nowhere near as good as A Predator's Portrait.

Exactly :)
But I think that Stabbing the Drama's title track is one of the best songs they did in years.
