What about Opeth people? We can't deny the Death/Black metal inspired Prog Rock band. They totally ripped one song off of a band called "Camel" =D Couldn't resist stealing a quote for my own...

Nah, haven't heard that one :D How is the Opeth version called? Or is this the name of the Opeth version?

Other must hear Opeth songs:

"Death Whispered a Lullaby"

Good one

"Harvest"

Don't know this one, must check it out.

"The Drapery Falls"

Don't know this one either, must check it out too.

"Deliverance"

The first one I've heard, nice.

Both bands called it the same. Opeth just did a sort of cover version, but they just ripped it off entirely in all honesty. Atleast Akerfeldt admits to it.

All from "Damnation":

"To Rid The Disease"
Must check out

"Death Whispered a Lullaby"
Good one

All of the below you can find in "Blackwater Park", Opeth's current album.

"Harvest"
Don't know this one, must check it out.

"The Drapery Falls"
Don't know this one either, must check it out too.

"Deliverance"

Indeed, it is nice. My personal favourite.

blackwater park is their best album. its not their newest though. damnation and deliverance are. one of those (can't rember which) is really heavy and the other is their softer more melodic stuff. basically, all the stuff they normally have in one song, they cut in half and put on two albums. those two aren't as good though. i recomend orchid or blackwater park. the leper affinity is the best song though. harvest is awsome too. all the songs you mentioned kick ass though. opeth is like my favorite metal band. they're just so damn good.

I agree that i's a good band, it's not just screaming and stuff, it's actually a very talented and good sounding band. Props.

I still like In Flames and Soilwork best :D

i read this interview in some guitar magazine a while back with one of the guitarists. he said his first guitar was some acoustic his grandma gave him. he smashed it 2 weeks later. he got another acoustic from his uncle later on and smashed that. he then got an electric guitar and said "now i am a metal musician." all this happened before he was 12.
i don't really know what that had to do with anything, that story is just awsome and that shows the guy has been playing forever.

I KNEW I missed out a band. I was so caught up in trying to think up the names of some what more obscure local bands that I forgot about the bigger ones I love aswell. So add In Flames to the list. Soilwork I'm aware of, but have yet to listen to their music, so I shall indulge myself later. 44% of flash downloaded, only 4 hours to go.

Hehe, good good :) and check out Soilwork, they are a little like In Flames, but all in all a little more agressive :D

Good, show me your artwork when it's ready :)

i can do with out everything above. sorry just not a fan.

My Dying Bride

i like

Nightwish

also a winner

Akercocke

they are allright. i take them in stride.

Mushroomhead

don't like them. they seem like they are trying to be like slipknot with those masks and shit. their music isn't that good either.

Sepultura (Their old stuff)
Fear Factory

both are awsome

Lost Prophets (Chill out band, again)

good sometimes

Pantera

fucking awsome. down and super joint ritual (phil's side projects) kick ass too

Metallica

everything before the black album kicks ass. if you take all the good songs off of all the cd's since, you get a decent album. s&m and garage inc are exceptions. those just kick ass

Nirvana (A nice song for artistical moods)

one of my faves

Papa Roach (I LOVE making bug like Tyranid models to their Infest album)

they suck balls live, and i am not a fan for that reason

Belphegor (My new must hear band)

they are allright

Opeth

one of my favorites

The Accused (Local Band)
Black Faust (My band, I'm the drummer!)
Wasted Youth (Local band)
Son of A Fiend (Local, again)

haven't heard cause i am not local to your area

His Infernal Majesty (That's what HIM stands for! Not many actually know Ville's a satanist.)

i knew that. i really like HIM. their music is just so good and different.

The Hurt Process

only heard like 1 or 2 songs

Payable On Death (P.O.D)

meh. i can do with out. some of their songs get in my head and don't leave and sometimes that is cool. other times its not.

Soulfly

sepultura is better, but they are still pretty good

Cycle Fly

haven't heard

Offspring

smash and ixnay were good albums and the kids are allright is a damn good song, but i haven't really liked them for a long time.

you whole list is pretty good. there were only a few things that i disagreed with.
p.s.- i know you are already in metal hell, i just felt like going through your list.

Slipknot are a bunch of retards who have skin disease. No true metal bands have come out of America. The only american rock band I like would be the deftones.

I'll only name a few since I doubt any will be liked. But listen if you want to hear some REAL metal.

Black Metal:(not for the faint of heart)
Naglfar
Dimmu Borgir
Old Man's Child
Vinterland
Enslaved

Death Metal:(same warning)
Dissection
Amon Amarth
Death
Morbid Angel
Nile

Gothenburg Metal:(much more upbeat and catchy)
In Flames
Children of Bodom
Kalmah

Gothic Metal / Orchestra:(overall depressing but very melodic)
Tristania
Theatre of Tragedy
The Sins of my Beloved

Most Medolic and Hauntingly Beatiful Metal Ever:
Opeth

If you'd have seen some more of this club, you'd have noticed that most of us like the REAL stuff and not slipknot and similar things...

Black Metal:(not for the faint of heart)
Naglfar
Dimmu Borgir
Old Man's Child
Vinterland
Enslaved

Neat.

Death Metal:(same warning)
Dissection
Amon Amarth
Death
Morbid Angel
Nile

Sweet.

Gothenburg Metal:(much more upbeat and catchy)
In Flames
Children of Bodom
Kalmah

Oh yes!

Gothic Metal / Orchestra:(overall depressing but very melodic)
Tristania
Theatre of Tragedy
The Sins of my Beloved

Most Medolic and Hauntingly Beatiful Metal Ever:

YES!
