I hope the Opeth concert was good and hopefully you'll enjoy yourself at the Helloween + Gamma Ray concert. I wish I saw them back in January, but was unable to. I'm wondering when Blind Guardian will be touring again. My sister's very interested to see them next time they visit Britain.

Agreed, last night it was someone nobody band I never heard of that was shit then High on Fire and then finally opeth started playing at 10 PM and they played till 1:30 AM.

The crowd was shit besides a couple cool teenagers I met and the first band was shit(High on fire was OK.) but Opeth made up for it all with sheer awesomeness.

The only thing I wish for tonight is that the audiance is better.

I actually have a huge hangover and am wicked tired now, I might end up not going to the concert tonight if I don't feel better.

I hope I feel better in these next few hours.

Blind Guardian is the kind of Band I would love to see live, but I don't think they like to tour.

Its understandable.

My only complaint about MusicZone is that they didn't have a bigger selection of albums than Zavvi and HMV do.

Zavvi have a big selection :S?
Maybe the Liverpool one does, Huddersfields is crap in terms of Metal.

I don't think anyone mentioned this book before (most especially the cover art), but someone showed me this just before and the cover interested me. Does this look familiar to you? :P

Haha, nice. Which came first, that or Blackwater Park?

They've not been to England in quite a while if my knowledge serves me correctly.
They were going to play Bloodstock last year but pulled out. But I too would love to see them, even though they'd never play And Then There Was Silence :(.

And I'm on broadband again at uni :D.

Bump :(.

I'm discovering the true powers of last.fm by listening to some bands I've heard mentioned here a lot and have always been intriqued about but couldn't listen cause of dial up. So I've been checking out Sleep, Sunn O))), Earth and Om.

Sleep: Listened to Jerusalem, Pt. 1. Seems alright, I reckon I could listen the entire Dopesmoker album. I think I prefer the sound to Electric Wizard... minus Funeralopolis and Dopethrone, of course. I'll check them out more, fo sure!

Sunn O))): No full tracks :(.

Earth: Same, but there was too songs, but they weren't Metal and I don't think they were the Metal Earth.

Om: I'm listening to At Giza and I'm loving it :D.

Well, Earth ceased to really be "metal" after a couple of albums. But all the songs on the last.fm are by Earth.

Honestly, I couldn't really get into Sunn O))). I've got Black One and the collab with boris, but it's not all that interesting. I kind of forget that i'm listening to it when it's on, and i don't want to listen to music to forget about it.

I like mellow music, so I enjoyed those two tracks. I can't judge the rest based on a 30 second preview though.

The fact that they're so love/hate makes me all the more intrigued about them.

It's pretty cool. It's really minimalist, but it stays interesting for the whole song.

I like Rotting Christ for several reasons:

1. They're Greek.
2. I've seen them live (my cousin dragged me a while back)
3. They're very atmospheric, but in a gothic way

I want more bands like them.

I downloaded the Guitar Heroes album,
the one with guitarists from Finland.
It's got the drummer from Wintersun backing the songs with sick beats, too.
If anyone's heard this, it's fucking insane, amirite?.

They'll probably do an international tour when their acoustic LOTR album comes out, without a doubt. I can't wait to see them, either. Their last tour I missed cause I had to see my family for Thanksgiving. Then I missed meeting them cause my dad said "No" to me going to Comic-Con this year. Seriously. Its ridiculous.

Well, there's a decent selection of CDs in Liverpool Zavvi. It has much more than what MusicZone had.

Maybe the Liverpool one does, Huddersfields is crap in terms of Metal.

I dunno what's happening, but I think Zavvi will be having a new shop because of the new Liverpool shopping centre. HMV have a place in there and it doesn't look bad, but of course, it's shit compared to Oxford Street HMV.

Thankfully Tom Hanks is on the case!

I'm listening to the other track from Om's 'Conference of the Birds' and while I like Electric Wizard and November's Doom in a kind of half-hearted 'I'm liking Doom' type way I actually really love this.
I think I might prefer early Electric Wizard (than Dopethrone) than Dopethrone cause if I remember correctly I listened to Black Butterfly and it had a similar ethereal style of singing to it.

Another Holy war
Bright eyes
Hand of Blood

The Bards song
Battlefield

That concert would be immaculate.

I DID go to the Helloween + Gamma ray last night, it was amazing!

A lot better than the Opeth concert I went to two days ago.

Both bands sound alot better live than they do on their albums, like seriously.

Espically at the end when both Gamma ray AND Helloween came out on the stage at the same time and played several songs like I want out at the same time!

Easily the best concert i've ever been to, if any of you have a chance to go to one or both of these bands live I HIGHLY recommend you do it!
