I've been wanting to go vegetarian since 9th or 10th grade, but I've never brought it up (except once) because I knew my dad wouldn't take me seriously. I finally told him today, and he acted exactly how I thought he would; he thought I didn't know anything about it, he didn't think I would be able to get enough protein, he didn't think I would be able to feed myself, he didn't think i would be able to cook my own meals if need be. Basically, he doesn't think I can do it.
This has become more than an environmental and health issue to me, now it's my pride. I'm not eating meat anymore.
Just to bring this up (because I can) you're just fulfilling the Californian stereotype, ha. I feel the need to point this out just to you of course, for no real reason. I have no objection against your becoming a vegetarian, but never, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, gloat about it. I know so many people who feel the need to flaunt the fact that they can survive without meat.
I know I probably can (considering I can go days without meat, but only because the meat prices are rising and I do work at a Guitar Center, not necessarily the best paying place), but I would never willingly do it, also considering I love hunting way too much. Damn me and my virtual anti-PETA lifestyle (save for the fur coats, I don't do that)
