Nev, it is grammatically correct, actually. It is not referring to God in a monotheistic way were the name for the god is God. Like how we refer to Odin as a god, you wouldn't capitalize it.
Here I am, bored with everything.

Nice - and true - BURN! I actually knew this even though English isn't my first language, shame on you, Nev ;)

Fairy muff. I'll accept defeat*.
But I bet it does mean the God god :P
*Not graciously, though :).

I know the difference, I did Religious Studies at college.
But lets face it, Metal cliché goes against Christianity and bums the Norse gods and such.
Hence my reasonsing for assuming it was Mr. Judeo-Christian God.

Of course I knew that you meant - was just trying to upset you a little ;)
Anyway, I just listened to almost the entire Paysage d' Hiver track "Kerker". The whole song lasts for 35 minutes and there's just too little material to fill the entire length..too much minimalist ambient and some good, if too shoddily produced atmospheric black metal.

Well if I die from the "conquences" I'm haunting you!
Just tell me where abouts in Germany in you live :P.

I was intrigued about the ambient bit, but then I read shoddily produced Black Metal :(.

And just incase you're wondering. They're like consequences... but worse >:(.

It got replaced with all the epic. You should have got Dawn Of Victory instead.

Haha, I'm gonna live with that :)
Germany? `:( since when am I German?

The production of that band has already ruined their self-titled release for me. Some good material in there, but the production is so bad that the white noise is louder than the music itself. I'm not a sucker for good production, but this is just beyond repair.

Sa Joke.
I know you're Austrian :).

I think the production is the reason I've never gotten into Black Metal. The vocals don't bother me whatsoever, and the riffs are generally fast which has an appeal.
But then the quality will just be poor. And even if its not I have a sort of bias dislike for the genre based on the people who think that shite production is admirable.
That and there is an abundance of ridiculous characters in the scene :P.
Shame too, seeing as a lot of Folk bands and Avant-Garde bands go for the whole harsh, raspy vocals and tremolo picked riffs sound mixed with theres and when I hear I always have to double check on whether I like it or not.
I totally cum for Shores of Sheol though ;).

Yeah, a lot of black metal has production that is beyond terrible. There is a limit for everything.

Well, my opinion is that no subgenre of metal apart from BM has so many shitty bands. There are a ton of black metal bands out there but I guess about every 10th or so is not complete and utter crap. It's my favourite music genre, but it requires a lot of digging.
That and there is an abundance of ridiculous characters in the scene :P.
True that is.

I really dislike the whole pagan/flutes/whistles and party-like Pagan Metal style. Some bands are fine, but bands like Korpiklanni, recent Finntroll, Eliuvetie etc. really piss me off these days.
I totally cum for Shores of Sheol though ;).
Well, that's fine with me ;) maybe you will find the next songs I'm working on even more pleasing - I do :)
At 8/8/08 09:43 PM, Goatchrist wrote: Yeah, a lot of black metal has production that is beyond terrible. There is a limit for everything.
I've only listened to the more mainstream BM acts.
You know, Cradle of Filth.
But seriously, Immortal, Emperor and whatnot.
So I can handle imagine.
And do those bands try and sound shit live too?

The jolly thing annoys me too. I gave Korpiklaani about 5 minutes before I decided to never bother listening again.
I like one song by Finntroll, which I can't be bothered to find so I can tell what its called. It'll be one of their popular ones. But besides that I care about them very little.
I do love me a bit of Moonsorrow though :).
Skyforger seem good from what I've listened to too.
Well, that's fine with me ;) maybe you will find the next songs I'm working on even more pleasing - I do :)
Oh, I'm sure I will :).
At 8/8/08 09:58 PM, Nev wrote: And do those bands try and sound shit live too?
Well, I guess some do, but Marduk and Urgehal actually sounded a lot better live than on CD.
I do love me a bit of Moonsorrow though :).
Well, I wouldn't put them in the same category as Korpiklaani or Finntroll, they seem way more "serious" with what they are doing.
Skyforger seem good from what I've listened to too.
Haven't heard them yet.
Oh, I'm sure I will :).
Good, one of the new tracks is my longest ever so far (8 minutes + few seconds) and it's rather epic I dare to say. Might even call it "Shores of Sheol" or something like that since I think it would fit and is worthy enough...

You still don't like 'em though right :P?
Haven't heard them yet.
Sensey recommended them to me a while ago a long with other Avant-Garde and Progressive acts and such... I think. It was Sensey, maybe a different occasion. But I have them :P.

It does have that long song sound to the title... and that's me out of my none arse-kissing mode :P.
Not that I only kiss your arse... its all genuine :).
Which sounds like arse-kissing...
on the subject of bad production and black metal; I like black metal, but the worst production I can stand is something on the level of Ulver's Nattens Madrigal, which is one of my favorite black metal albums.

I agree completely! Except for the flutes things, Bergtatt anyone? Shit didn't the flutist that played on that record die?

Wtf, Immortal and Emperor sound great.
Hey guys, can we kick out that Smeagol1 guy too?

I already have Dawn of Victory. It was a bit light on the Metal too.
Seriously, Holy Thunderforce is all that I can think of when someone asks the question "What songs have Rhapsody done where the Metal outweighs the Power?"
On another note, I got The Morrigan's Call by Cruachan. I have but one verdict:
Damn that shit is catchy.

I actually thought it was pretty decent. Better than Inhuman Rampage at any rate.
Maybe not as straightforward, but it's still guitar wankery at it's best.

Yep, that's what happened to Triumph or Agony.
You should have got Dawn Of Victory instead.
Speaking of that album, I still need to get that and Legendary Tales. I'd get it soon, but I'm happy enough with Diamond Head's Lightning to the Nations and HammerFall's Legacy of Kings (which I got the other day) right now. :)
At 8/9/08 09:58 AM, Rokuro wrote: Speaking of Power, nobody in this club buy Dragonforce's new album. I'm serious.
Not a problem. I'm pretty sure my sister will get this album. While I enjoy the other DragonForce albums, I just don't feel like getting their new album after hearing it's pretty much like their last two albums.
Why are people moaning about Power Metal not being Metal enough?
It's Power Metal for Christ's sake, it's all about being ridiculous and cheesey.
It's like asking 'WHY'S THERE SO MUCH CHOCOLATE IN MY CHOCOLATE CAKE!!!!'
At 8/9/08 03:29 PM, Nev wrote: Why are people moaning about Power Metal not being Metal enough?
That's not what I meant.
I meant that Triumph or Agony, rather than the Speed Metal-esque riffs and soaring vocals that the genre is usually known for, it contains Violins and gay-ass speeches.

Lots of PM bands use violins.
And the "gay-ass" speeches are done by Christopher Lee >:(!

Correction. Lots of PM bands use Keyboards that sound like violins.

Having the most awesome voice in all of creation does not compensate for filling Power Metal songs with cheesey gibberish.
