Just got a new CD with the remainder of my Best Buy gift card.

Leprosy - Death.

Hopefully it arrives soon and not take forever like my other three CDs... WHICH STILL HAVEN'T SHOWN UP!

yes... and thats the problem of the metal hell in general... the lack of respect in here is awesome

What I should have said is something along the lines is "answered your questions in regards to metal."

alright

my bad.

The thing is... that in your opinion he beated me, but thats just because you share opinions with him.
The fact that I want to include metalcore in metal, is that there is something like 100 subgenders of metal music, and if Power Metal, Black Metal, Death Metal and Folk Metal can be considered all metal, than metalcore, in my mind should be a part of it. I know you guys don't like the fact that there is some emocore stuff in metalcore, but if any of you would listen to the new album of Bullet For My Valentine, you would realise that there is way too much Melodic Death Metal and Thrash Metal influences for it to be left out of metal bands list... but anyway, I don't want to have another fight with 90% of the crew... so if you... Mister D3NTATUS, have anything else to say about it, then feel free to do so. But I seriously don't want to ear angry underground metalhead's complainnings.

Anyway, I would like to know on what album is the song Victoria Secrets by Sonata Actica, cause it's fucking sweet !!!
I just bought one of their first album, Ecliptica and it's awesome, anybody else have it?

Can we consider Images And Words by Dream Theater to be a Metal album? Cause it's really just a progressive album.

you don't like your vocalists to sound human sometimes?
And I'm not complainning about screams and growls, I like it a lot, I just think it's fucked up that you bash a whole kind of vocals with absolutely no argument.

I should have been more clear by 'gay'. I meant the really girly dramatic/choir vocals commonly used in metalcore really do annoy me, like they use in this song.

you don't like your vocalists to sound human sometimes?

Of course I do, but if i want whiney bitch vocals I'll go listen to Fall Out Boy

And I'm not complainning about screams and growls, I like it a lot, I just think it's fucked up that you bash a whole kind of vocals with absolutely no argument.

Why would you? Screams and growls make up a massive percent of all metal.
My argument is my opinion (just as your argument is yours). That overly done girly things like that really don't belong in Metal, the cleans used in Power/Prog Metal are at least done with the intent of the singer maintaining there sexuality.

The Human Equation by Ayreon. Guest vocals from James LaBrie, Mikael Arkfeldt, and Devin Townsend as well as a bunch of other people who are in band's I've never listened too. Pretty awesome stuff albeit not all of it is metal and it can get pretty poppy at times. Still it's got some pretty epic and powerful segments in there and there are a lot of celtic sounding folk influences. It's different that's for damn sure, and even though I've only been through it once I love the shit out of it already.

Metalcore isn't metal for the very reason that the hardcore influences are more noticeable than the Metal influences, Groovy riffs, Breakdowns, that annoying Scream vocal, and the whole "Hardcore dancing" in the crowds.

Listen to this.

is it more of this.
or this?

No, Okay, that just proves that they don't get their influence from Death metal.
Thrash metal?
No.
Power/Black/Doom/Goth/Melodeath/Folk?

NO.
Metalcore is not metal, It's just Hardcore by some faggots that have listened to too much Nu pantera, Metallica, At the Gates(which already had some hardcore in it), And pathetically failed at trying to put the aspects of those bands into their music.

Goatchrist already wrote a HUGE rant on why I am right, on page 1400 something.

And then of course there is another point to be made:

They're talented musicians. They know their stuff about Metal and I bet if they weren't on Roadrunner they'd be a completely different band (so lets blame Roadrunner).
And Ascendency is a good album.

I'm not of the opinion that they're devoid of talent. They know more about playing music then I do. However that doesn't make their music anymore interesting. Add to that the funny image and bingo you've got yourself a patsy.

They're kids, and kids in the media have to be depicted like that.
I doubt they had much choice in the way they look on photoshoots. I can just imagine some nerdy photographer covered in spots with nicely emo'd hair and glasses telling them to growl like a tiger and look hardcore.

I'm not dissing photography, but Roadrunner. I don't see photography as nerdy, etc.
When I see something unintentionally funny I'll make fun of it ... sort of like an Uwe Boll flick. It's about the opposite of crying to ridicule Slipknot or Trivium. They do it to themselves.

When I say cry I mean the attitude of people moaning about them without any sort of context behind what they're doing. If you don't like them, don't get upset about them.
The band is a joke, and making fun of them makes complete sense... but these arguments are ridiculous.

Personally I think people are way to anal.
There is only so much you can do the notes you're given. And to have a riff that is slightly similar to another is in my opinion insignificant when they're doing other stuff originally.
If they build an entire career out of theft, obviously, its wrong, but Trivium have their sound/style and they're very much the forefront of the mainstream Metalcore malarky.

I think people are just being overly critical because of Trivium's reputation.
