Not much in the way of metal for me except getting Kings of Metal by Manowar.

Upon listening, it is evident that the album name is false advertising.

Except for the glorious Hail and Kill.

Also, track listing for new Axel Rudi Pell album for anyone that cares. You know, me and anyone who actually appreciates musical talent. Or, you know, if Kidd wants to make fun of the song titles or anything, I don't really care.
1. Fly To The Moon
2. Strong As A Rock
3. The Masquerade Ball / Casbah
4. Drum Solo
5. Tear Down The Walls
6. Mystica
7. Rock The Nation
8. The Temple Of The King
9. Fool Fool
10. Call Her Princess

I have but four complaints.
One, where the fuck is the shit from Oceans of Time?
Two, how many times can you have a song with 'Rock' or lyrics in the title before it becomes boring?
Three, why the drum solo? We get enough of the (sub par) drums on the albums. There have been but 2 bass solos on the albums, and they were amazing. What's wrong with a bass solo? Why the fucking drums.

Oh yeah, and the drummer is the same guy from Tarja Turunen's solo project.

And four, don't the following lyrics strike anyone as...odd(?) for a Power Metal band?

Sheila, a rockin' girl
You can feel the power
Dressed in black
And rides hour after hour

Yeah, we all know

Ooh, they call her Princess
Ooh, she's the hottest bitch in town
Ooh, they call her Princess
Yeah, she's the hottest bitch in town

It scares me a bit.

I got three new cd's from my freind two of which are fucking epic!!!

Opeth-Ghost Reveries (fucking touchs me at night!)

Diabolical Masqurade-Ravendusk In My Heart (best fucking Black Metal cd I've heard in forever)

Behemoths first cd-"And The Forest Dreams Eternally (I was disappointed, but I liked the intro)

Yeah I like the newer Behemoth vocals much better than the first vocals.

Don't really give a crap about the band or what you wrote, but the lyrics aren't that original. For a power metal band, its not the norm at all, but Iron Maiden did something like that with the song 22 Acacia Avenue. At least that is what it reminds me of anyway.

Yeah, she's the hottest bitch in town

If you can look past the lyrics in St. Angers case, you should be fine here. These are much better.

I thought Stormwarrior's lyrics were a bit 'what the fuck' for a power metal band. Unless im hearing them wrong, the song Holy Cross talks about them destroying God and the Cross and whatnot...i thought all power metal bands liked talking about religion in a good way?

lol.

Double Post for the win:

In other news, Evanescence singer Amy Lee has shot down rumors that she will be collaborating with
Metallica on a song for the band's forthcoming album.
A couple of unsubstantiated reports involving Lee and Metallica have been making the rounds on the
Internet, including that she will appear on a new version of the band's classic track "Fade to Black" and that she will be featured on a brand new Metallica song called "Last Life". However, according to Amy, neither one of them holds any water.

If Metallica pulls this shit off, they are so copying Megadeth and what they did on United Abominations >: (

Sauce.

I didn´t like the new version of A tout le monde. The Metallica version will surely be even worse, Metallica sucking and everything.

Response to Metal Hell 2008-04-22 08:23:21

When it comes to the Megadeth vs. Metallica battle these days, the former are very much ahead of them. "United Abominations" had some very good tracks and was overall a lot better than Load, Reload or St. Anger. Well, everything is better than St. Anger.

Agreed. I personally love both bands equally though, they both put out bad albums, and then fixed it all back up. Except Metallica over did it with the crap output with Load and St. Anger. Whereas Megadeth only semi-crapped out on Risk.

I still can't wait for the new Metallica album though.

I think Metallica and Megadeth were fairly equal in abilities and lyrical themes until ...And Justice For All. Then Metallica started beating Megadeth over the head with a brick.

Then they decided to be fools and commercialise themselves. Thus bringing them back down to Megadeth's level (Metallica), below Megadeth's level (Load and ReLoad) and below Limp Bizkit's level (St. Anger).

The new album better damn well rock our socks off.

I always thought that if Megadeth is better than anything in Metallica, then it´s the lyrics. I like everything else about them too more than Metallica though, which i´ve never really been a fan of, only the first 4 albums. These days Megadeth is WAY better, i´m glad that Dave Mustaine got kicked out of Metallica.

Let's do a comparison.

I hate you.
I watch your shit on Youtube.

Anyway, if we're talking strictly in musical skill (which we are) then St. Anger sucked balls. However, if we are talking about how listenable the songs are, then it is average.

Meh, most things good on "Kill them All" and "Ride the Lightning" were written by Mustaine anyway and "Master of Puppets" is horrendously overrated. I do think that AJFA is the best and only truly worthwhile Metallica album though. Still, it's not nearly as good as "So Far So Good So What" or "Rust in Peace", hell, not even as good as "Countdown to Extinction".

Then they decided to be fools and commercialise themselves. Thus bringing them back down to Megadeth's level (Metallica), below Megadeth's level (Load and ReLoad) and below Limp Bizkit's level (St. Anger).

Comparing the more commercial release of both bands, Megadeth also wins:

Countdown to Extinction -> Black Album
Youthanasia -> Load
Cryptic Writings/The World Needs A Hero <> Re-Load
Risk -> St. Anger

Sure, "Risk" pretty much sucks, but I'd even listen to Britney Spears before I'd listen to that piece of shit called "St. Anger".

The new album better damn well rock our socks off.

It won't. Live with it.

Response to Metal Hell 2008-04-22 11:42:06

Also, Megadeth is So Much more Fucking Good than Metallica.
Their only "bad" album had this on it, While Metallica has like 3 bad albums With no Notable songs Whatsoever.

Ride the lightning had two songs by Dave, And Kill 'em All had Mustaine all Over it, Including stuff like Jump in the fire and the four Horsemen.

After that, they made 2 good albums, Then Fagged out with the Black album And Made 3 Shit albums so far.

While Megadeth has Always Kicked ass.

Yeah, Megadeth is far superior to Metallica. I like some early Metallica songs, but they've got nothing on the kickassery of Megadeth. They're not even close.
