My friend Lukas recommended them to me (he's my friend that's in a pretty good metal band). Fair enough, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt with this and say my bad but with Kidd I think he's made it pretty clear that he thinks power metal is gay, and it isn't. As far as death metal goes right now, please check out Nihil by Nonexistence. I suggested them a few pages back but nobody said anything. I wrote a full review for it on MA if you're interested.

So I was looking on the interwebs and I found this webpage that says it was the Family tree of metal, and rock, and all that stuff, and despite my efforts to understand it, I was unsure of its reliability in accuracy and all of that bullshit. so here is a link to it. will someone interpret it and tell me if it is accurate? this is just for my research in music.

It's not ENTIRELY accurate, but it gives you the jist of things. There are a couple of mistakes, like saying that black metal evolved out of classic heavy metal. Black definitely evolved from thrash, with bands like Bathory and Venom.
