Heavy power metal...try Blind Guardian or Hammerfall.

Hammerfall doesn't seem that heavy to me. Rebellion is pretty heavy, though. And it's one of the few power metal bands that don't bore the fuck out of me. Blind Guardian is one of the few as well.

It has members from Rivendell and Falkenbach. I'm gonna see if I can get an album. It's good stuff. It's pretty weird, which I see as a good thing.

I agree. Stratovarius are probably one of the least heavy metal bands i listen to.

lol, rubbish ;) CoB has nothing to do with thrash. They are (WERE) indeed Power Metal riff-wise. Alexi's vocals has always sucked, but apart from that, they were heavily Helloween-influenced. They just cranked up the speed back then. Nowadays they are just groove metal with a few metalcore and melodeath moments.
