Its such a bland attempt to recreate the book its untrue. I know books rarely transfer to film well, but this one was almost as bad as the Da Vinci Code.
The book is tits though :). Vile stuff.

Sorry for triple posting (not like its really a crime or anything), but I really love that book and had to share with teh discussing :).

Jesus Christ Nev, fucking 10 hit combo :p.

Anyway, I've often heard the book was better and I plan on reading it. However - you have to remove yourself from the plot differences, and the differences between what you read and what you see. The movie wasn't bad in its own right. The technical aspects of the film (camera work, sound - soundtrack was great, I don't care what anyone says, stuff like that) were all done proficiently to excellently. Christian Bale acted well. Plot notwithstanding, it was a good movie.

Besdes, everybody knows the books are better. Sheesh. :p

All this talk of progressive metal confuses and infuriates me.

But then again, I haven't listened to anything new in ages.

I have been getting into Necrophagist, however.

They already released a video single on myspace, I think. Anyway, it sucks. They haven't been good for a while and their speed capability (the best thing going for that band) has gone waaaaaaay done. Say what you want about Alexi, but he isn't as good as he was.

Its very good. Although I only liked it a lot on the second read. There is a lot of description about clothes and stuff, its a bit annoying. But I've grown to realise whats good in books and whats not, and its not bad :P.

However - you have to remove yourself from the plot differences, and the differences between what you read and what you see.

Its not plot differences. Its pretty solid really. Its just very timid in comparison to the book. Which is obviously understandable when you've read it, but I just found it to be a bad film.

I thought Bodom albums have to feature the word Bodom? Or reference to a lake?
Also 'Tie My Rope' sounds a bit too sexual.

One of my dirty pleasures is that i like some country. I'm not kidding.

I don't mean shitty Rascall Flatts pop country rock, but just folk and country i hear on a radio station my dad listens to. It's really more countryrock than just country, but I like it a lot.

I also have a huge boner for ska, but that's not dirty nor secret. I also love jazz. and indie and indie folk.

but i think the one you're going to be most dissapointed in is rap and hip hop. i really do like hip hop and rap, which is why i always get angry at people who say rap sucks.

Wu-Tang Clan ain't nuttin ta fuck wit.

Classes were cancelled for me, due to inclement weather, so I suddenly have nothing to do.

First post after mine BY A REGULAR tells me which METAL album I should "aquire".

Any genre, anything as long as it fits the requirements above... Hellloooo boredom (campus is shut down).

Response to Metal Hell 2008-02-22 11:34:31

Been a while since I've posted. New albums I've gotten:

Tankard - Kings Of Beer
Hyades - And The Worst Is Yet To Come
Witchery - Dead, Hot And Ready
Domine - Dragonlord (Tales Of The Noble Steel)
Summoning - Oath Bound

I'd figure about the same, at least 4 inches probably 5, but I haven't been outside yet. Enough to get out of class - woooo. Still snowing as I type., and I heard its not supposed to stop until tomorrow morning.

Also, getting, thanks for the rec.
